from the Houston Chronicle:

For a guy who is about the best quarterback ever in the regular season, Peyton Manning sure does have his problems in the playoffs. Manning's regular-season numbers are mesmerizing. Manning's postseason numbers are mediocre. Manning has had 2 sub-40 passer ratings in 144 regular-season games. Manning has had 3 sub-40 passer ratings in 11 postseason games. Manning has led the Indy offense to an average of 26.1 points per game in the regular season. Manning has led the Indy offense to an average of 21.3 points per game in the postseason. Manning has posted a 94.4 passer rating in the regular season. Manning has posted an 83.7 passer rating in the postseason.

On the other hand, Drew Brees has been outstanding in the playoffs. He has a passer rating of 99 in two career playoff games. He's 51 for 74, for 562 yards, three TDs and one INT. He needs 100 total attempts to qualify, but this pace would give him the third-best passer rating in playoff history.
