A current song I'm really digging is:

"Sister Soak the Beans" by Joe Ely...

never really liked Joe Ely... not because he makes bad music, but because his voice turns me off of his music, but this song really goes well with his voice and I love it...

Reckless Kelly...was never a big fan but have really gotten into it lately

Matt Wertz...kind of a hybrid between Jason Mraz and John Mayer

David Crowder Band...found some of his old albums earlier this week and have been rockin' them ever since

Randy Rogers Band...I'm not sure why but I keep finding myself listening to "This Time Around" on the Rollercoaster album. Better not let the girl find out that the song stuck in my head yesterday was about telling a girl off :evillol: (for the record...I have no plans of telling her off either)

OK Go...I've listened to them off and on for a few years now. Since they're opening for Snow Patrol in Dallas in a few weeks I decided to freshen up on their music.

Michael Buble...how can you NOT like the standards and classics? He does a great job remaking many Sinatra, Charles, and Fitzgerald songs...and he does it with a modern flare.

I listen to all types of music from Nickleback to Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks to Tenacedious D.

But for the last few days I have been listening to my James Brown Collection. I miss him. In my DJ days I would start off the Party with "I Feel Good" or "Please, Please, Please then mix it up from there. Got people on the dance floor every time.

Before that i was on a "Weird Al" Video kick.

The last CD's i just bought were Blue October and Tenacidious D "Pick of Destiny" which is good but not as good as their first CD.

Goods songs are the one you like at the moment.

Classis songs are the one that stand the test of time and keep on playing for years after, and cross generations, regardless of the type of music.

I tend to find that some songs can catch my ear right from the first, but that i will tend to tire of these sooner.

Others songs may have something that makes me come back to them and give them a few more listens and i begin to like them and listen to them more often or dig them out of my collection and listen to them again over the years.

One i just dug out and started to listen to again is "Baby's Got a Gun", because of something I read in one of the threads here about moderators.

Yeah...their new stuff is a lot more mainstream than what they were putting out a few years ago. The first place I ever heard them was on MVP 04 or 05 on my PS2. Back in the day...EA used to have all sorts of great unknown bands on their games and then the next year they would be big.

I think their biggest prior hit was "Get Over It." Good tune, catchy. I'd also recommend "Bye,Bye Baby", "Return", and "Cinammon Lips."

I picked it up from RRB. It was always the last song that would played before Cold Hard B**** would play as they are walking out on stage. I had heard it before...but the more I listen to it the more I like it.

Ryan Adams is pure greatness though after hearing a few of his live shows I think he's much better in studio. I have a friend that's seen him many a time and he says that 9 times out of 10 he's either drunk beyond comprehension or strung out on something and it's not a pretty sight. One night he was opening for the Stones in Chicago and spent 15+ minutes improving a song called, "I love vodka." I've heard it...it was pretty funny...but also really sad. One thing that really got me down is a lot of the time when he does To Be Young live it's a slow, VERY folkish version and doesn't make me feel young at all! :(

I'm in the process of acquiring a copy of former Spree member St. Vincent's new album.
