We're nearly to the halfway point of the NBA season and I read an article today in which Steve Kerr of Yahoo Sports was touting Steve Nash as a repeat winner of the NBA's Most Valuable Player award. It got me to wondering.......Should Nash win it again? Is this Dirk's year? How about LeBron, who has led Cleveland to the best record in the East or Kobe who has kept LA in contnetion with a cast of nobodies? What about Gilbert Arenas and his buzzer-beaters and 50 point games?

I gotta go with Kobe... though he didn't help my Spurs out any last night :(

this isn't even close

Nowitzki is playing so well they CAN'T give it to Nash AGAIN, can they?

LeBron should've been it last year, and Dirk should have it this year

Nash for me, he just controls a game & makes everyone better. PHX is fun to watch & most in the NBA are not anymore.

All listed have a good argument though. Will depend on the 2nd half results & Dirk is definitely in the mix.

Third time is a charm for Nash...but i wouldnt count out Arenas yet...

Well I'd go with Nash or Kobe so far followed by Arenas. Even though Arenas plays in the JV conference, he's just been amazing no matter who he's played against.

well considering that he is basically carrying the team makes it even more impressive...

I cast my vote for Gilbert. Dude is amazing. I don't care what conference he plays in.

Dirk Nowitzki and Larry Bird are the only players in NBA history to have 20 PPG, 9 RPG, and make 75 3-pointers in a single season. Nowitzki has done it four times compared to Bird's three ... and in four fewer seasons.

That's nice, but what bearing does it have on the 2006-07 season?

Tell me why you believe Dirk should be the MVP THIS YEAR

Arenas is taking far more shots per game than anyone else, just like Allen Iverson

Although i think Arenas is much better than him
