Outrageous....

My daughter's 30th birthday is Sat and we are giving her a party----some kids never grow up----and I am driving my wife 80mi round trip to Denton to pick up her birthday cake.......an 8" white cake= 35 of my hard-to-come-by, sweat-of-the-brow dollars......outrageous, even if it is for daddy's little girl.

I feel your pain...but there is a worse alternative...For my daughter's 4th birthday I was going to save money by making her cake myself. I had my wife buy a winnie the pooh mold and I let her bake the cake...I would then come in and decorate it...4 hours later and a pending surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome and I was finished...had I "billed" someone for the cake I would have charged about $300...My daugher was thrilled with the cake but it was destroyed in about 6 seconds....moral of the story...stick to carving on animals instead of carving on cakes....the pay is much better!
