Jason Jack, DL at Texas A&M, is going pro according to reports. He declared before the deadline & it was just announced.

He had 2 sacks in 3 years of playing (redshirt + 3 years).

Bad move for Jack IMO. He has little value right now. Maybe a solid senior year could have helped him. He was a very highly ranked recruit out of Humble. Word I have been told is he had problems with Fran & wanted to stay at DE, while they wanted him inside at DT. See ya Jason! (But I have problems with Fran too.)...

he did it because he needs the money, he's got two kids from what I heard

That may be so, but he will not be a high pick if at all, so he will have to make a team. Risky move by him. Best of luck.

He is a tweener. Size of a DE but has not been explosive off the edge. So you put him at DT with added size & hope he is athletic & active enough to make plays. Problem is he takes plays off & has never been disruptive. So what is he? Maybe a late pick by someone hoping to strike gold. Should have stayed in school & tried to upgrade his stock IMO.

A&M's defensive line will be fine. LBs need added athleticism (hopefully Lewis & new guys will help) & secondary needs lots of work. A&M needs more athletes on defense ASAP so they can play with more abandon & turn it loose.

DEs = Harrington (All Big 12), Mi. Bennett, Obizor, Freeney, etc.
DTS = Bryant, Heard, Smith, Williams, etc.
LBs = Dodge, Tupe, Lewis, Richardson, new recruits, etc.
DBs = Gorrer, Peterson, Newton, Gregg, Brown, Bryson, NEW GUYS, etc.

In other words, help needed at LB & DB more than DL.
