Twenty-five persons have applied for the job of head football coach at Southlake Carroll, said Derek Citty, chief personnel officer of the Carroll ISD.
Seven are from out of state, said Citty, who is part of a six-person committee that will select finalists. Most are high school head coaches, he said Monday.
Carroll will continue to take applications through 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Citty said Carroll hopes to name a coach next week.
The job came open in mid-December when Todd Dodge announced he was leaving to become coach at North Texas. Dodge finished his Carroll career with a 79-1 record and an unprecedented four Class 5A state titles in five seasons.
