SISD gets updates on AD search

Sealy Independent School District board members will hear an update on the search for a new athletic director during its meeting Wednesday night.

"We are looking to begin the first round of interviews between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1," SISD superintendent Thomas Price said. "Right now the committee is meeting to create a profile for the position."

Price said the committee is currently screening applications, and there have been 25 applications as of Jan. 10.

"We have had great response," Price said. "We have had several applications from as far as Florida and Illinois."

Price said the committee is looking for someone who will work with academics and advance all areas of athletics, as well as build on the character and traditions of SISD.

The board is also expected to accept the resignation of Assistant Super-intendent Tina Herring-ton.
