too much water will kill you

yes, but they never mention that

maybe because it would take a LOT

we would pound 12-15 quarts a day in boot camp

i think it is the continued large amounts of water that wears down the kidneys, or something like that

64 ounces is usually a good amount per day, even if it seems like a lot to most of us

yea, it's highly unlikely you could kill yourself by drinking massive quantities of water. I was thinking about that lady that died trying to win a Wii.

If you think what the Phosphoric Acid in Coke can do is impressive you should see what Gastric Acid (Stomach Acid, 0.1 M HCl pH = 1.0) can do...the acid in coke could never eat your insides, however i imagine it can do something to your tooth enamel (not sure about this though)...i drink a lot of coke and have had one cavity so far which is a lot less than my friends in general (im 21) my guess is the fructose (corn syrup) does a lot more damage then the acid since it isnt pure phosphoric acid your drinking (its diluted odds are the pH of coke is actually between 4-6 or so, water is 7.0 for those that dont know)...the fructose could give you cavities that you could counter with brushing your teeth regularly and washing it off.....the real problem with coke is that drinking that much sugar (fructose) can make you obese, coke just like everything else you could eat or drink is fine as long as it is done in moderation....i must say that said im guilty of drinking to much coke

I have read some where that the proper amount of water per day is this. Divide your body weight in half and this will give you the amount of oz. you need. Example: 200 pound man or woman needs 100 oz. per day. I have always heard my whole life that you need eight- 8oz. glasses of water per day ( 64oz) If you think about it, why would someone who weighs only 100 lbs. need as much water as the person that weighs 200lbs???
