I think he will because Oklahoma will slide downhill quite a ways next year, and he's going to recognize that.

i thought so too, but then i though M. Bush up at
Louisville would take the medical redshirt and play next year, especially if he had already gone through the process of getting it

(January 15, 2007)--Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson will skip his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

Peterson released a statement with his decision Monday, the last day that underclassmen could declare themselves eligible for the draft.

Peterson says he realized in the end that it was a business decision and it was time for him to take the next step.

Peterson says he hasn't been sleeping much and had been weighing his return, particularly because of the relationships he had formed with his Sooners teammates.

Peterson leaves Oklahoma as the school's third-leading rusher.

Only 1978 Heisman winner Billy Sims and Hall of Famer Joe Washington ran for more yards at Oklahoma than the 4,045 yards Peterson racked up in three seasons in Norman.

And those numbers came despite injuries in each of his three seasons, including a broken collarbone that kept him out for seven games this season.

He still holds the NCAA record for rushing yards by a freshman, with 1,925 in 2004.
