2006 NCAA National Championship- Ohio State vs Florida

I hope Florida wins just to prove to the old guard in the Big 10 that the SEC is the strongest collegiate football conference in the land. That is my "heart", but my "head" says Ohio State by 7-10 because they are the most "complete" college team on both sides of the ball. They are a "machine" and just don't make many mistakes. If Florida goes the Boise State route, and uses some really innovative offense---they can get it done.

Not exactly. IMO, OSU has adjusted their defense to playing tighter on the FL receivers instead of dropping into coverage early and allowing the underneath routes. Look for FL to counter by starting to throw the ball up the field because the OSU DB's can't run with the FL receivers. That is why they were dropping back during the first half. If the OSU rush can't get to the QB early enough, I look for FL to make some big plays.

This game makes Auburn look really good.

The undefeated #3 teams weren't enough to change the BCS to a play-off.

All the arguments about who should play in the title game when there's only one undefeated team weren't enough to change the BCS to a play-off.

Sadly, this game won't be enough to convince the bowl fat-cats, the NCAA, and, perhaps the most resistant group, the university presidents that the college national championship should be a play-off.

The fans need to hit 'em in the pocketbook enough to force 'em to set up a 12-team tournament just like the pros. Take the 8 champions of the biggest conferences and then take 4 at-large bids.
