Lytle - district 27 - somewhere in the Hill Country would be my guess as to where they are

South of San Antonio, I'm pretty sure....not far from La Vernia, maybe.

# 2? Heck, I didn't realize that when I watched us play them last week.

Fairfield dropped out and Argyle and Burkburnett stayed in the top 10 and they lost to Martin's Mill in the Whataburger tournament Burk by 25 and Argyle by like 7 Fairfield won that tournament by beating Martin's Mill who they play again tomorrow night of course after that game on Tuesday where Fairfield lost and just went out there and laid an egg I guess I can see it...16-2 so far

Just comes to show the poll isn't worth the paper its printed on. Dallas Roosevelt loses to a terrible Athens team, stays #1, La Vega is a .500 team, but are at #17. Fairfield has what? 2 losses? and drops out completly. If I am not mistaken, didn't think happen to Fairfield last year? They would just drop out of the poll all together (even when they didn't lose).

Oh, no, didn't mean that. I thought they were good. I just hadn't paid attention to the polls, so didn't know they were that high. Final was 77-76. :(

I was NOT impressed by Ponder at all....They played Fairfield close but a lot of that was at the end when we fouled them on a 3 incredibly dumb play and way after the kid realeased and he knocked down all 3 and then we were up 4 with like 7 seconds left so we just let them score and didn't throw the ball in since they didn't have any time outs.....I wasn;t the only one thinking "wow there no way that game should have been this close and if we play like that were not gonna win this tournament" But on tuesday they some how beat Martin's Mill, heard MM just played bad though.......I will say this though Ponder gets more out of what they have than anyone ive ever seen

Aransas Pass beat Arglye in San Antonio earlier in the season. Lytle is next to San Antonio. Supposed to be HUGE. Wylie might get out of Region 1 this year.

Lytle is about 25 miles southwest of San Antonio on Highway 35 which goes to Laredo.

Connally beat Killeen Friday night COnnally is 20-0 Killeen is #8 in 4a but I looked at Connally's schedule and they haven't played anyone(I know the Whitney tournament sucks and i saw who was in Cameron don't know about West) I don't know anything about Killeen(like who they have played) but they are 20-2...We will see how good Connally is when they start district I guess

They're going to have a few tough teams to get past if they want to do that.

5. Argyle

8. Burkburnett

9. Borger

Region I should be pretty tough this year.

Region I should be pretty tough this year. psh Burkburnett is only ranked because they dropped from 4a....top 3a teams don't get beat by 25 (could have been worse) by 1a teams....I saw the game and it was NEVER close

Snyder Gave Wylie a heck of a game last night. I think Wylie beat Snyder by 6 or so.. IF wylie is realy that good then Snyder should be in the top 20 from what I saw last night.

Wylie led by double digits for a long time and outscored Snyder 17-3 in the third quarter. Says alot about Snyders tenacity to keep coming back and keep it close.

That third quarter made the difference...the new coach has made a world of difference for the Snyder basketball team. It was long overdue IMO.

Wylie 7 8 17 22-54
Snyder 9 7 3 27-46

Snyder has improved vastly.

It's probably a misprint. Maybe it's Lufkin Hudson, a basketball power in East Texas.

Roosevelt had one key player sit this one out due to injury and two other guys they depend heavily on sat out this game due to disciplinary reasons. Losing 57-54 on the road, while sitting three guys they have to have in order to make another run to Austin, isn't a bad thing at all. Even though this game was a homecoming for Stanford Hill (Athens is the alma mater of Roosevelt's head coach.) he did the right thing and took care of a discipline problem before district play starts and the games start to mean something. I'm sure he could've just played the two that he sat out and not disciplined him, but that's not his style and he made the right move in that situation for his team.

Knowing why they lost to Athens is why Velt is still ranked #1 by the guys voting.
