So we are about a month and a half away from the start of baseball season. Since GWOOD has become the resident high school baseball specialist, can we get some preseason insight? Thoughts on the upcoming baseball season? There are several West Texas baseball teams that should be able to make some noise!

I think Snyder and Lubbock Cooper are the two favorites out of Region 1. They both return a good core of players plus pitching. Also have to watch out for Abilene Wylie, Perryton, Canyon, Decatur, and Andrews.

Statewide--Bridge City, Carthage, Falfurrias, Texarkana Liberty-Eylau should be Top 10 teams. Silsbee and Hutto look like they will be very good as well. Wouldn't surprise me to see Snyder as a Top 10 team.

Only 3 weeks until first day of practice for baseball and 6 weeks until the first games.

Do you have any inside info about who will be coming to the Snyder Tournament? I think Greenwood's tournament will be the same weekend as Snyder's(March 8-10). We are having a 16 team tournament this year using three fields, including the really nice Citibank Ballpark that is used by the Midland Rockhounds (Oakland A's AA Club).

Baseball season is the best down here, we are pretty decent when it comes to everything else but the atomosphere of the town when baseball season starts is awesome... I expect big things from this years Fightin' Jersey Bulls..

Hey Fal44. Do you know which of the guys on the current Falfurrias team also played on that 2001 Little League team that was the state runner up? I know that Jason Garcia did. What about the others?
