San Antonio 51, Dallas 40 at halftime. Mavs got close, but Spurs pulled away again with some late baskets at the end of the half.

Game over

Mavericks 90, Spurs 85! Woohoo!

I love Bill Walton:

"and if they win 20 more in a row, they will tie the Laker's record!"

charlesrixey
01-05-2007, 11:10 PM
i wouldn't go that far, but they are getting close

they've beaten them twice in SA and this is after beating them in 7 in OT in SA last year

no wait a minute, I'm not talking about the past.....I'm talking about the present.....there has been a changing of the guard. The Spurs have been great, but the Mavs now own 'em.

I wouldnt call a 2-1 record against the Spurs an "owning"

Mavs beat'em last year in SA in game 7
Mavs beat 'em twice in SA this year
Mavs came back from double digit deficit tonight
The look on the players' faces tonight is all I need to see... in the closing minutes, the Mavs knew they were gonna win, the Spurs did not have that look. KA, it's like how Forney owns Crandall. Case closed.

Mavs dont own em....but they have definatley closed the once wide gap....in fact they have surpassed the Spurs but only by the slightest of margins..

after their 0-4 start, i am very proud of the way the mavericks have fought back to get the best record in the NBA. With no other truly dominant team out there, the mavs are only a bit away from being the total head of the pack (i think if they get to 65 wins they will take the nba title--another win against SA and Phoenix before the playoffs will pretty much nail it shut if they can duplicate in the playoffs. No eastern conference team would win two games against them in a series.

Did you know that #6 seed houston would be the #1 seed in the east?

Spurs typically catch fire after the All-Star break. The Mavs are playing some great ball right now so appreciate what you have while you have it, and they just may give you a little more than you expected. Either way, let's wait it out before we crown anyone champions.

that's true, Dallas has been the dvision leader in the first half of the season much of the century, but haven't finished as well
