Wake actually made a game of it for 3+ quarters so that made it mildly entertaining...though I wasn't really paying that much attention! ;)

Remember Notre Dame is a football powerhouse and has won several national championships over the years. They are also a decent Christian school of high morals that never has any scandles and operates on a Boise State type budget. They have very high academic standards.

Actually it's called that because it was originally located in Wake Forest, NC, a town where there actually is a forest called Wake.

And GO IRISH but I predict LSU by 11 at least.

The late Governor and Congressman from Louisiana was a big football fan of LSU. His name was Huey P. Long (1893 to 1935) He was the governor of Louisiana from 1928 to 1932 and served in the U.S. Senate from 1932 to 1935 until he was assassinated. He was rumored to have been a shady politician and to have built a political machine but while governor he improved the roads in Louisiana which were much needed at the time. He also build hospitals and helped school funding. He was very instrumental in getting Tiger Stadium at LSU built and he loved to go to their football games.

There is also a bridge in the New Orleans area that is named after him because it was built while he was governor.

Well LSU is damn good. jaMarcus Russell has been playing awesome as of late and he's a hoss. It also happens to basically be a home game for the Tigers. Throw all that together with the fact that any decent team Notre Dame has played has rolled them up. . .I'd guess LSU wins this pretty easily. But ya never know.

LET'S GO IRISH LET'S GO!!

:D Never Say Die

Let's see how many of you I can rile up today. I'm going with the Irish by at least 7, I hope the Tigers haven't been watching the media or reading stuff like this...because the ND football players are getting pretty sick of all the hate against them. If the Tigers come in more worried about the "glorious" homecoming to New Orleans and how they are making the city happy after Katrina, then yes the game will get out of hand very quickly like you say...except the opposite way. Yes the Tigers have a home game against the Irish in this but that can work both ways tonight because of the hurricane. If LSU's distracted it will come bite them in the butt. I read an article about the LSU head coach saying LSU being in the first Sugar Bowl back at the Superdome feeling 'right' and he couldn't picture it any other way. If that's what the coach is saying to his players they are in for a rude awakening because someone doesn't just come in and wave a magic wand then you win the football game. If LSU won it would be one of those feel good stories but I think everyone is a little TOO caught up in that...which doesn't bode well for them. Don't be surprised if Brady Quinn has a few more special moments in him in his last college football game.

ND goes for it 4th & 1 from their own 35 and doesn't make it on the fake punt. Who in the world does this in the first 5 min of a game with the score 0-0? Charlie Weiss must want this one awfully bad to make decisions like this.

No shame in supporting your team, NDF. I don't like ND because of the battles they have had with Texas and southern teams over the years----and there were years where I had to eat my share of crow, too.

ND=Media darlings, thanks NBC. They are usually overrated. They will probably be in the top 10 at the beginning of the year. Still is a good program but like I said before, LSU has way better atheletes and they whipped ND upfront. Game was close for a while but like they say "The cream rises to the top"
