I copied this over from another board just to show what kind of work he has done compiling stats. I love the history he brings to this particular round of stats and hope he continues to do this kind of work.

In 1971, Wichita Falls was riding high. They had just won their 6th state title two years before, tying Abilene, Waco and Breckenridge for the most ever and were entering the 1971 state championship with a state record 47 all-time playoff victories and hoping to become the first program ever to win 7 titles. It seemed inevitable that playoff win number 50 was right around the corner as well. Unfortunately, the #1 ranked Coyotes were not destined to be the first to achieve either, as they were upset by San Antonio Lee in a classic title game 27-28 and the UIL record for playoff wins remained 47 for another 13 years. Plano came along and pushed it to 48 in 1984, and in 1985 Wichita Falls got their first playoff win since 1971 and also hit 48. Then in the area round of the 1986 playoffs within 24 hours of each other both Plano and Wichita Falls logged elusive win #50, but Plano did it first. Since then only 23 programs have done the same, representing less than 2% of the total number of teams statewide.

The 23 current members of the 50-win club are below in bold:

21 out of 23 have won at least one State Championship (with 16 of them winning 3 or more) and together they have racked up a combined 88 State Titles and 22 Class B or 1A Regional Titles in the years before those classifications played to a state title
