who should they take and why in this years nfl draft?????

give ur thoughts...

i say joe thomas.....OT from wisconsin.....

Their O-line needs help and Carr will prolly play better with more time in the pocket...

Carr has had time in the pocket and he is not that good in it. He makes late dicisions and holds on to the ball too long. IMO that is why he gets sacked as much as he does.

that is a good point but he will learn and grow.....he is becoming a better Qb and their running game will benefit from that pick too.....if they chose joe thomas from wisconsin...

also he did not get sacked as much this year so he is making progress.....i do not know the exact numbers but im pretty sure he got sacked less times...

He's been in the league 5 years. He should be out of the learn and grow phase. He should be finding ways to improve his game now

ur right....but the first 3 years he had NO O-line....this past year was the first he had a decent O-line.....and he made progress this year.....

Sage Rosenfels > David Carr

I say pick up Peterson if he's available
Otherwise a lineman

sage rosenfels is worse than a hasbeen.....carr is their qb it will stay that way.....i would not take a Rb....dont they have davis coming back this year????.......im not sure if hell be ready to go....but if so why draft a Rb????

take a lineman and it will help every aspect of their game.....also that reciever from Georgia tech.....(johnson????)

hes pretty good......

me and you must watch different Texans. Carr is a horrible decision maker. Sage has out performed Carr in every game Rosenfels has been in this year. Remember the first Titans game Carr and the Texans were down big. Sage came in and led them back to a 7 point loss. If Sage would have started Houston would have won.

Davis is always injured. It's not worth it. Although Dayne has done well recently

Calvin Johnson? Texans already have AJ and Moulds. Don't need another receiver. Work on the defensive secondary. They need help there.

I think the Falcons should trade up to get him. They need a game changing reciever, plus the fact he's from GT will generate some excitement in the city that they sorely lack.

agreed....they need help in the secondary...robinson cant do it all.....but moulds is getting old and he is not that goodnor does he have breakaway speed like johnson and will they be able to get a receiver of this caliber in the coming years when they do need one.....and johnson johnson duo would be vicious....

12-31-2006, 01:41 PM
now im off to watch the texans..........

pantherpop
12-31-2006, 02:45 PM
If Troy Smith is available they should take him. Maybe get Plummer in the offseason to let Smith learn the Pro game. For sure get rid of David Carr no matter what.

TexanAlum_06
12-31-2006, 03:05 PM
You can bet Cleveland will take Smith is he is available. it will generate some excitement for that team since he is from OSU. If the Texans go for a DB do you think they might take Aaron Ross from UT?

necks_c/09
12-31-2006, 03:18 PM
they will not get rid of carr under any circumstances unless he asks to be traded....and y would plummer want to come to the texans when carr and troy smith would be here.....that makes no sense.....

also there are better Db's than aaron ross in the draft....he could be a second round pick....he is not good enough to go in the top10....prolly a late 1st or second round pick.....

TexanAlum_06
12-31-2006, 03:24 PM
Yeah thats true. They say he could be a 1st rounder but yet they said that about guys like cory redding and jonathon scott and rod wright and they all went in the late rounds.

Good point, I didnt think about that. But then again I think Cleveland is in more desperate need of a QB then Houston was last year. or more then houston "THOUGHT" they were. who is starting for cleveland today? Ken Dorsey? That aint gonna cut it. lol

lets put it this way...if he were to slip into the 3rd round he would be a steal......

also i would never take a skill position in the later rounds b/c they usually tend to rot on the bench for about 4-5 years until they are traded....

the highest rated Db in this years draft is leon hall from michigan.....not aaron ross....according to some anyway...

Yeah he would. it happens to a lot of Texas players. prime example=NATHAN VASHER.... and one texas DB that hasnt been mentioned in a while is Quentin Jammer? is he still with the Chargers?
