My key to enjoying movies is always forget about the hype, i tend to stay away from trailers and from people talking about new coming movies, i dont like things getting spoiled for me. appreciate the movie for what it is, dont make it to be something you wanted it. another thing, watch the movie and quit trying to guess the end, it always turns out bad for you when you do.

here's some i would share, not all of them are new releases.

namesake- An interesting movie, i really enjoyed this one. based from the book, the struggles between two first generation Indian immigrant and their kids(the beginning of the movie) It is ultimately a story of American-born Gogol, the son of Indian immigrants, wanting to fit in among his fellow New Yorkers, despite his family's unwillingness to let go of their traditional ways.

little miss sunshine- laughed throughout the movie, i thank the person who recommended it to me

grandma's boy- another hilarious movie, its a happy madison production..... you should know what to expect.

Idiocracy- i personally loved this movie, alot of people i watched it with thought i was dumb. there is alot of little stuff you should pick up if your paying attention tot he movie. makes you think, this could really happen to us.

Employee of the Month- dane cook and jessica simpson. i laughed.

Man of the Year- good movie, always enjoyed a robin williams movie.

300- greatness. i dont need to explain this movie to anyone, who doesnt know about it?

Night at the Museum- thought it was hilarious

Letters from Iwo Jima- different story of one we all know already. i enjoyed it

Transformers- one of the few movies i was able to watch over and over again and love it every time.

Flyboys- just watched this one last week, i liked it alot. WWI, aviation is becoming the big intervention in war. movie follows a few people who lived this life and at the end it gives you a followup of what the ended up doing.

Mr. brooks was pretty crazy, i liked it alot. Its about a business man who just received man of the year award..... but he has a psychological problem, an alter ego who is a serial killer. interested yet?

El Mariachi.... old movie, the begining of the trilogy (desperado, once upon a time in mexico). i liked it, the movie was funny, some parts that make it funny is the extremely cheap budget they were on(the film costs 7,000 to make, only did each shot once, no redos.) oh yea, its only in spanish( i didnt know how to turn subtitles on)

Goal! The dream begins- great movie. i loved it, and cant wait till they finally release the second one here in the states. (been out in europe for a few months already :( great sports movie, defiantly watch this one

rush hour 3- your typical rush hour movie, enjoyable, funny, jackie chan fight scenes, i dont really have to explain this one.

i now pronounce you chuck and larry- adam sandler movie, i thought it was hilarious. put a different perspective on the whole gay theme. i dont know why someone wouldnt like this movie, but it did get alot of bad critiques and bad views from social groups.

daddy's little girls- a drama/comedy about a mechanic who enlists the help of successful, but lonely attorney while trying to wrest custody of his three daughters from his treacherous ex-wife and her drug dealer boyfriend. along the way, the working relationship between blue-collar worker and his uptown attorney grows into something more. this is a simple, touching story of two people trying to overcome their different backgrounds to find love, a down on his luck man struggling to protect his children from abuse and neglect, and a community looking to purge itself from the criminals terrorizing their neighborhood. good movie overall, different than most of tyler perrys movies.

Inside man- brilliant movie, directed by spike lee. this is a story about a perfect robbery.

The departed- This film takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, where notorious Irish Mob boss Francis "Frank" Costello (Nicholson) plants his protégé Colin Sullivan (Damon) as an informant within the Massachusetts State Police. Simultaneously, the police assign undercover cop William Costigan, Jr. (DiCaprio) to infiltrate Costello's crew. When both sides of the law realize the situation, each man attempts to discover the other's true identity before being found out. Even though it is a tad bit long, i enjoyed every minute of it. great watch

shaolin soccer- hong kong comedy, i thought the movie was hilarious, its about a former shaolin monk who reunites his five fellow disciples, years after their master's death, to apply their superhuman martial art skills to play soccer and bring Shaolin kung ** to the masses. its been out for a while, dont thin kmany people have seen it. watch it,

desperado- one of my all time favorite movies. sequal to el mariachi, after being shot in his left hand, now a useless mariachi, he seeks revenge on the people who killed the woman he loved. still dressed as a mariachi, open his guitar case and dont be shocked to find there are guns galore underneed the guitar cover. lots of action, explosions and salma hayek is in it. my favorite gun scene is definatly the first one where cheech is the bartender. if you havent seen it yet, go rent it.

the ringer- totally different than i thought it was going to be, i liked what they did with this one, check it out.

crossroads- if i was talking about the brittney sprears movie, i would have already hung myself. This movie is Ralph Macchio(the karate kid) is an inspiring bluesman who plays the guitar and goes to Juilliard. he meets willy brown, a blueman legend, who in his early lifetime sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads. this movie is about making it back to mississippi to the crossroads and seeing if a old man can get his soul back. an awesome guitar faceoff between the karate kid and steve vai, the devils guitar player, also makes this movie great, if you dont rent the movie, then atleast watch the video of the battle on youtube. i enjoyed this old flick.

if i think of any more ill add them later.

Shooter - good movie. lots of action, plus Markey Mark :inlove:

Untraceable - Wicked story. Diane Lane kicked some ass at the end. haha

School for Scoundrels - hahahahaha

Blades of Glory - Will Ferrell is hilarious

Fracture - Pretty cool

Lars & the real girl - hadn't laughed like that in awhile :2thumbsup

I had never heard of this movie, but my daughter brought it home for me to watch and I thought it was great.
"Lonely Hearts" starring John Travolta, James Gandolfini, and Salma Hayak.
Great mystery thriller about detectives trying to solve a series of murders in the 1940's. Really well done and riveting.

This week I have watched:

Nick & Norahs infintine playlist(I think)= OK movie. Nothing special.
Against the Dark(Steven Segal's newest movie)= Don't waste your time. Segal has like 3 speaking parts(a good thing) and the movie is very poorly done. I kept asking myself through the entire show why anyone would walk around in a zombie world without weapons yet all the characters did.. Drove me nuts!
Nights in Rodanthe = Pretty good movie. But I have a romantic crush on Diane Lane and a man crush on Gere. Sorry! Can't help it.

I understand they took a cue from Cloverfield and had the single point of view aspect. One camera following the characters around. I like that idea except for the fact they normally use camera movement or darkness to create atmosphere or suspence. Just looks like a cheap way to entertain. Eagle Eye - lots of action. It's Enemy of the State meets Minority Report, meets I- robot all rolled into one! {NOTE: If you are paranoid - don't watch this movie!}

The House Bunny - LOL - I was distracted the entire movie by what Anna Farris had done to her lips. This is one of those cheesy, guilty pleasure type movies I like to watch. Absolutely silly, but who cares!

The Secret Life of Bees - excellent movie - Dakota Fanning is awesome in this movie!

My Best Friend's Girl - funny in parts, Dane Cook should stick to stand up!

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist - I liked it, even though the main guy character is so painful to watch.

Swing Vote - good flick

Bottle Shock - I really liked this movie. I'm not sure why though haha

The Family that Preys - Kathy Bates & Alfre Woodard?? What's not to love!

Sexdrive - HILARIOUS - go rent it, NOW!

Hey Phil, watching A Bridge Too Far.

Really is a great movie considering when it was made. Today all the computer generated stuff makes it easy. These battle scenes are aawesome. I took a grad class for the fun of it in Problems in Military History, needless to say, Operation Market Garden was discussed.

you can watch tv shows, movies, anything; there are no downloads or memberships to anything. it streams the media over the internet, therefore, not illegal. its been up for well over 2 years that i can personally confirm, if not longer. if this were illegal, it would have been shut down LONG AGO like the others.

.
Results from more recent fare:
Gran Torino: 3 stars, ok maybe 3.5
The Forbidden Kingdom: 2.5 stars kinda funny but how did that kid learn so quick
Transporter 3: ehh 1 star sucked
Quarantine: 2.5 stars NOT formulaic at all, some decent moments and then the "twist" when you learn if this is plausible

WARNING: SPOILER

I watched Push and Knowing both on the same night and I though Knowing was much, much better than Push. Push didn't really have much of a plot or story line. Just a bunch of people running around killing each other.
One Question about Push though : Do you think the female star(Camilla Belle) was actually a agent from the beginning and the male star (Colin Ford) had his memory adjusted to remember a history with her or was she adjusted there at the end to be made to believe she was a agent since the beginning when in reality she was what Ford remembered????? The only interesting twist.

Eagle Eye - Fair at best. I thought the storyline & 'twist' was stupid, but I liked watching the movie play out, if that makes sense.

Syriana - Interesting to say the least. So many storylines made it confusing, but it was well-acted and I definitely didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it.

(2.5)3 out of 4 stars, if only because of the twist. Very bloody horror movie + Clive Barker= something different.

What a movie title!

I saw The Orphan the other night. It was okay.

Watched Appaloosa last night on HBO. It didn't really hold my interest, so in that respect it is a typical western. :D

I thought the movie was just a movie about immigration made to look like an alien movie? Care to go into detail of it without any spoilers?

Definitely worth 4 bucks to rent. the thing i loved about the movie is all the small starwars references, famous 1 liner quotes....princess leia even is in the movie if you didnt pick that up! kristen bell at the end of the movie dressed up as princess leia is also very nice.

Adventureland - the lead character was very awkward, thus made me feel awkward and I don't like feeling awkward. It had some funny moments. I loved the soundtrack and if you are a fan of the 80s, you might want to check it out.

New in Town - very cookie cutter predictablitity, but it had Harry Connick, Jr. :inlove: and I love, love watching films that feature the Minnesota accents. Yah

The Cake Eaters - I've been wanting to watch this forever. I love Mary Stuart Masterson and she directed this film and it's just beautiful in a very simple, yet complex way. :nerd: :)

Only the scenes that were shot in the IMAX format should do that. The aspect ratio will change during those scenes. The Dark Knight Blu Ray is the same way.

They're only 'mini-movies', but I've been watching ESPN's 30for30 series. And so far, it has been amazing. Haven't watched the one for the USFL yet, but will sometime this weekend.

I highly recommend these if you're an all sports junkie, and appreciate a lot of backstory and possibly some eras that happened before your time. So far, they've gotten Peter Berg and Barry Levinson to direct these, so it's not some indie project.
