Going through past records and looking at which teams tended to give the usual winners the biggest problems I came up with the following interesting list... Since I have almost complete records for most teams over the past 20 seasons I went through the biggest winners over the past 20 years to determine which teams have winning records against them. The results were somewhat unexpected...

No team has a winning record against every single opponent they've played over the past 20 years.

Celina and Austin Westlake are the only programs that I have found that are no worse than one game under 0.500 in head-to-head matchups with every team they've played over the past 20 seasons.

Here are 10 of the top 11 biggest winners in the state over the past 20 seasons and the teams they've fared the worst against during that time. Games under or over 0.500 is used as the measure. In the case of ties, then the opponent they've played the most total games against wins

1. Southlake Carroll 1-4-0 against Highland Park
2. Celina 1-2-0 against Farmersville
3. CC Calallen 0-5-0 against La Marque
4. La Marque 0-3-0 against Stephenville
5. Austin Westlake 1-2-0 against both CC Carroll and Smithson Valley
6. Katy 0-2-0 against Houston Yates and Lufkin
7. Converse Judson 1-3-0 against Waco
8. Refugio - records not available
9. Stephenville 0-3-0 against Highland Park
10. Highland Park 1-3-0 against Grapevine
11. West Orange-Stark 1-3-0 against both La Marque and Houston C.E. King

Other teams of note:

Plano 7-12-1 against Plano East over past 20 years
Odessa Permian 0-4-0 against Plano All-Time

Everman was 1-2 against Wylie when they were in 3A. Wylie was the only team to ever beat Everman in the playoffs! :)

For Wylie...I would have to say Gainesville as the 2 times they have met have ended with the Leopards on top! :(

Oh...and I don't think Sweetwater likes playing Wylie either! (this is NOT an invitation to hijack the thread...)

I'm gonna hijack, where are the Snyder people to help.

No but serisouly from the time I was in middle school until my last varsity game I dont' think we ever beat Wylie in anything, maybe in JV track one year. We may have beaten everyone, and I mean everyone else but we had a huge hump against Wylie. I don't know if it was mental or what but I do remember getting dunked on in 7th grade and walking off the court that image will haunt me the rest of my life. I know the mustangs haven't fared much better in football against them since I graduated.

P.S. We've always owned Snyder.

Yep that's true and I know we did take them in basketball more than one or two times my JR an Sr year. For everything that is said they are one of the best programs in the state.

i work in Crandall but played for Forney. The series record is something like 55-1-1 in Forney's favor.

We're 0-2 vs. New Braunfels and 2-3 vs. Kerrville Tivy in addidtion to our goose egg vs. La Marque.

And if Gp83 were here he'd remind you that we're 22-29-1 all time vs Gregory-Portland.:p

in Royse City, our nightmare is Forney
we've never beaten the Jackrabbits
I have a hunch that we will get some more chances starting in 2008, we'll probably be in their district in 4A
