While the info is still "fresh in our heads"...I was thinking that we take nominations for the following categories and then we can vote on them here in a few days.

Best Defense
Best Offense
Best Rushing Attack
Best Passing Attack
Best Coaching Job
Biggest Surprise Team
Biggest Disappointment

We'll leave out "Game of the Year" as that one falls into the 3ADL Awards that will be done some time in the spring. I'll give until Wednesday around noon to post your nominations IN THIS THREAD...and then I'll make polls for each category of the top 3-5 finalists. You can make up to 3 nominations in any category. Sound like fun???

Wylie's was definitely up to par in the Decatur game. The onside kick and 42 yd FG at the end weren't too shabby.

What did I miss with LE's special teams?

Middlebrooks punting maybe?? People were always talking about his leg strength and the ability to "place" the ball.

They were doing great until the LH Homecoming............No one outside of Liberty Hill knew what Gatesville was about to go through. That traumatic event alone sent them in to a downward spiral. ;)

Ah, my friend, there was something in the air, an electricity, surging and energizing. We all knew something was about to explode, and the scoreboard just about did.

now now...nobody could have imagined that you would score anything close to 84 (I think) points on what looked to be a pretty good Gatesville team! ;)

Biggest surprise. Vernon hands down. Picked way down the totum pole by Dave Campbell's and the Harris Poll, the Lion's stormed into the semifinals.

Vernon was rated # 68 in the state by the Harris Rating System back in September and went to the semifinals

Why not celina best D in all 16?

They held LH to a season low on yards and points

Should be no question Alaska cat. One game, regardless if it was for the final should take away from Celina effort the entire year as the best D team in the state. From one LH fan they deserve it. However, I have to say LH should get second at least for D overall this year. I have not seen so many fourth down stops especially the last three games and especially during the final when it mattered most.

I have been awed by the LH offense the last 6 seasons. Hell of thing to watch as you try to figure who has the ball when most often then not it is heading for the goal line. Fun to watch even if you think this is throw back. Frankly....makes the spread boring……I can’t wait for next season.
However, no matter how well the offense performed it was the defense that finally brought the prize home. Proving a well known fact.
