Burkburnett would get beat pretty easily by all of these teams in Whataburger: Argyle Shallowater and Fairfield.

Velt is the heavy favorite right now. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Coca-Cola tournament to Desoto yesterday, but they do the same thing that Madison does and they're playing pretty much an all 4A and 5A non-district schedule this year. Velt should be back down at the Drum this year to defend their title.

I would love to see a schedule like that from any other teams...that is loaded with 5A and 4A powers...'Velt is only getting better.... Martin's Mill is doing it in 1a they beat Pittsburg earlier this year by like 14...the scary thing is they are 20-2....A lot of schools cant do what Roosevelt is doing though...for one a lot of those 4a and 5a schools wont play them and 2 its just to far for a lot of schools and none of those 4a or 5a's will come play a 3a at there place....roosevelt can get some of those teams to come to their place because 1 it is so close and 2 they are DISD and they have all of those DISD facilities to use

Roosevelt will be tough again this year. Also, better watch out for Fairfield.

I know they are not currently ranked...but, what about Carrollton Ranchview? They went to state last year in 3A.

On a side note, Martin's Mill is currently ranked #2 in 1A Division I

Matthew328

I thought Ranchview really benefitted last year from two big time kids from New Orleans who graduated?? Haven't heard much about them this year...

12-31-2006, 08:43 PM
You're correct. I double checked. It was the Matlock brothers. Antwone was the one that made the All-State team last year. They both graduated. LOL...now I know why they are not ranked! Those 2 guys carried that team.

Oh there's no doubt Roosevelt is good but by looking at scores against the 3a teams Roosevelt has play (and i know this isn't accurate but to play devils advocate) I don't know if Roosevelt is head and shoulders above everyone in 3a. And Matt is right about Ranchview. CelinaCatFan I guess Celina and Fairfield wont get to play this year we had played the last 2 seasons.
