Congrats to Wimberley on becoming only the 2nd team ever to log two wins against State Champions in a single season..and the first to beat both State Champs in it's own classification in the same season.
This is a post I compiled a year ago that I just updated...
As a disclaimer: This is just interesting, trivial information and is meant only as that.
I was going through past state championship records and came up with some interesting data. Just going back for the past 21 seasons (1986-2006) there have been 155 UIL 11-man State Champions (counting 1A thru 5A, divisions I and II, and including both Dallas Carter and Judson in '88)
The combined on-the-field Win-Loss record of the 155 Championship Seasons is 2243-131-10 which is a 94.4% winning percentage. What was a bit surprising is that looking at the 131 losses, only 19 programs can lay claim to more than 1 of those losses, and only five schools in the state can say they've beaten 3 State Champions in the last 21 years. This is just a list of the 19 programs and the teams they won against.
