Of course you need the internet, Xbox Live is internet based. You can either order it monthly, or you can go to Best Buy and get the bundle, which has a 1 year subscription and a headset. If you do end up getting Live, make sure that you have high-speed internet so you can play it, don't go buying Live and have dial-up, because you can't use it. If you do get it, add me, my name is BBDE.

Gold is what you use to play other people online..All silver does is allow you to download updates and saves and such

All I ever played was Team SWAT, but they took that off, so it was like a level 7. When I usually play, I have guests so I hardly ever play ranked, but realistically, I'm around a level 24 or 25 at this point in time.
