well, simple actually. Take McGregor in 2A for instance. They are out of the playoffs but are still better than probably 95% if not more in 2A. Same can be said for alot of good teams in 3A that had to take the early exit this past week. That is why some are listed in the hundreds even.

Looks like Sinton will advance!

I think that it shows just how poorly those Pollsters were at picking who really were the teams that would advance! The best 16 teams in each of the Divisions are the "junkyard dog" survivors that are climbing the Brackets. The little darlings of the Pollsters that are bouncing basketballs, are not the survivors and should not be considered as better than the Boys from each school that have reached the Playoff various levels! Politics goes out the window when the Brackets are the only criteria to judge a team!

Apparantly, Collier-Sharp did not update their rankings numbers on their picks page. The week 11 rankings page shows Sinton #6, Aransas Pass #49, and Port Isabel #53. C/S has PI by 2 over AP, and Sinton by 36 over La Feria.

I can understand the theory about the better teams getting bounced in the first round getting higher rankings. For instance Barbers Hill, they were a good team who dominated their district and their season is now over. They appear to be better than many teams still playing this week and given a different playoff schedule would probably still be playing this week. I am no expert at rankings, nor do I have a solution or suggestion to fix the issue or improve it. I guess this is how some of the votes are distributed and the theory behind it. There is my 2 cents for what it is worth.

Well personaly, I think rankings are B.S. The only Rankings that are Real, are #1 and #2 they are given to the Teams in the Title game. They Earn them on the field not some number cruncher with a formula. Did anyone look back over all the games last week and see how many teams won that had a lower power ranking? I bet there is a few of them that didn't have the numbers to win but did.
