Desmond Howard is an idiot - anyone hear him discuss Cal vs. TEXAS in the Holiday Bowl last night at halftime of the TCU game? he even said he wondered which McCoy would play QB against Cal

He's not from ESPN but the guy that does the TBS games with the horse voice that always squeeks is annyoing. I can't think of his name.

that show is still on...
to explain what I mean, I believe that Smith is like Rome in the fact that he does not beleive half of the stuff he says, he just says it to draw a response, get a reaction, or get his name out there, which has obviously worked for him...
let us not forget Joe Theisman... there's a tool

Theisman annoys me to no end. It's partly why I love Kornheiser so much: he calls Joe out every time.

Joe Theismann is the King of all tools. He's followed closely by Paul Maguire in all-time "he's a tool!" comment calculator. The Schwammi on the other hand is NOT a tool. Without the genius of Keith Berman Sports Center would never have become what it is today. By the way, the Berman and Tom Jackson bit on PacMan Jones this week is an instant classic.

Al Maguire is a 100 on the unintentional comedy scale. Did anyone see the USC game when the announcers made him do the whole game on the camera stand? He just looked pissed off and half drunk, and he stammered the whole time incoherently. My friends and I had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard.

Wait, was that Paul Maguire? Are there different Maguires. Crap, I'm confused now.:(

I think you're right. It is Paul Maguire that is a giant tool. I think I was the one that was confused. Also, if you had to work in a booth with PAUL Maguire wouldn't you want him on a camera stand instead of sitting right next to you too?

Listen to Dan Patrick's radio show sometime. He can't offer original thoughts...he just rambles on and laughs at himself for a while. The only reason I'll listen is because he draws the biggest interviews because of his reputation. Olbermann doesn't work for ESPN anymore. He does a good job on Patrick's show during the 1 o'clock hour...but then he'll go off on a political rant and you just want to tell him to shut up.

Kornheiser is good. . .on PTI. He absolutely STINKS on MNF. Tirico is rather lame, but he's a decent play by play guy. Theismann on the other hand. He's a freaking moron. He's always ripping on players acting like people even care about what he says. Most football fans probably can't even tell you what team he played for.

Steven A. Smith is THE proof that racism works both ways.

Stuart Scott would be good if he'd stop trying to act like he's "down" and "black". He grew up in the 'burbs and went to the University of North Carolina. He's fairly ridiculous.

Merril Hoge is also a tool. The analysts are paid to start controversy and flip-flop every other day to keep people watching. However, Hoge has taken it upon himself to try and drag Vince Young through the mud. It's so obvious his fellow co-workers are having to cover for him on camera. He also dresses worse than Michael Irvin, and that's saying something.

My favorites: Berman because he's a true sports fan and funny. Tom Jackson because he's cool, old school, and works with Berman well.

Litany, I don't think Kornheiser is that bad on MNF. I just don't think he's comfortable there. It's obvious him and Theisman don't get along (at least to me), and Tirico has the personality of an eggplant. He doesn't have anyone there who can keep with his style of rapport. Personally, I think Costas, Collinsworth, and Kornheiser could work really well together if they ever got paired up.

Oh, and I can't watch Stu Scott anymore. I hate to sound mean, but the eye really creeps me out.

I like Jim Rome. He's been cracking me up on his radio show this week, comparing Isiah Thomas to Colonel Jessep in A Few Good Men since they both ordered a "Code Red."

Yeah, I mean I LOVE Kornheiser on PTI but he just doesn't fit on MNF. I mean every single game before it starts he reads off of a script he's planned beforehand and that goes TOTALLY against what he's best at. . .the improv arguments he has with Wilbon on PTI. Of course, I don't think you can do that with Tirico on one side of you and Theismann on the other, ya know?

Besides, the good football games are on Sunday nights now, and Madden and Michaels are as good as ever.

Berman still has his moments, but for the most part all he does is pat himself on the back.
