most of those guys at the DMN rarely follow much HS football outside the serious metroplex teams....most of them will vote strictly on the team's record if they are in other regions of the state, so the Hondo/LH guesses are not of much acct in fact....and they will almost always pick a DFW area team over a far off team if it is reasonable to guess it.....they are not concerned about sales of the DMN in Vernon so no need for anyone to consider picking them, and besides, when Celina is on a roll, it usually pays to pick them to win until they don't win - it has been the correct choice for 30 games now, so not a bad plan....

Keep in mind these guys know very little about 3A and down football. If there is a Metroplex team they will pick them almost everytime. They only know the name of Celina but have no clue which team is best.
