i understand they arent playing great teams but they are still being the dog crap out of everyone they play except for their last game...including Wolf City that was a top 5 team right?

Alto has also played one less game because they had a bye in the first round right?

yeah, they got a bye, McCamey won their district but due to alignment they had to play. I believe McCamey beat the midland Lee Jv but lost to the Midland High jv in Midland.

the way I look at it...no matter who you play you are pretty dominant when you give up 13 points in the regular season...

and averaging 54 points a game on offense for the season...and give up 3.4 a game for the season

very true, McCamey had the best defense in the permian basin this year. They only gave up 160 yards a game and 11.7 points per game this year. Against Valley Mills they won 28-7 and they had 2 TD's called back for bogus calls (illegal formation) and they called a fumble 1' before the goal line that went out of the endzone....could of been and should of been 42-7.

3pm in Brownwood at Gordon Wood. Alto is sure to bring fans and McCamey is literally shutting down to go to the game, the misses is from there so were going and she has family from dallas and amarillo making the trip....gonna be fun!

From tyler paper:

At historic Gordon Wood Stadium, Alto proved it for the 14th time, and for as many times, in dominating fashion with overpowering speed and a superior physical presence.

Four seniors hoisted their team on their back for all of Alto's touchdowns, and the "Jacket Swarm" defense forced five turnovers to rock McCamey, 42-13, in front of about 6,800 fans - many of whom embraced Alto's first-ever state title.

Alto's end credits, following its Class A Division I crown, include a 14-0 record, a school-record for points in the season and the accreditation of being one of the most dominant teams in the classification's history.

"To be truthful, it's all I wanted for Christmas," said Alto second-year coach Keith Gardner, whose team outscored its opponents 744-58 this season.

"But don't tell my wife," Gardner joked. That's OK coach. She probably wished for the same thing.

Quarterback Julian Willis and running back Jeremy Lofton scored two rushing touchdowns each, and both scored in a 22-point fourth quarter for Alto, which led by as much as 42-7 before McCamey scored on a reverse pass with 2:30 left in the game

Willis, a senior, closed out his final season with 47 total touchdowns, passing and receiving. He orchestrated drive after drive in the fourth quarter for touchdowns, and helped anchor a defense that forced two turnovers on downs with McCamey deep in Alto territory in the fourth quarter.

"He had a great night," Gardner said. "He took some tough shots, but he maintained his poise and played through some pain to help us win a state championship."

Lofton was speechless after the game, only able to say, "Great, amazing, awesome." He rushed for 82 yards on 12 carries, and on a personal level, became a part of a state championship team. It was a feat that the senior's uncle, former Texas A&M and NFL veteran Steve Lofton, missed out on while at Alto.

Tyson Mitchell, one of four Alto players with possible Division I futures, performed in his usual freak-of-nature style. He caught five passes for 92 yards and a touchdown and accounted for three of Alto's five forced turnovers with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Mitchell's brother, Tarcellus, picked off McCamey quarterback David Mooney (16-of-27, 150 yards) in the second quarter and returned the ball 30 yards for a touchdown. Mooney was intercepted three times in the first half.

"Nothing really surprised us, but to be honest, what surprised me - and you can't gauge this on film - was just how athletic they are," said McCamey coach Jay McWilliams. "Alto's got at least four or five guys that are very talented at the skill positions. If you try to key on one, they can throw it to somebody else."
