State Softball Championship

Today is the day the State Championships in softball are played. Some games have been completed. Region IV has ruled in Class 1A and 2A as Flatonia beat Windthorst 3 - 0 and Weimar beat Coahoma 6 - 0.

Region III's, Kirbyville defeated Kennedale in the final, 8-1. Sorry, no details. Great season for both squads & Congrats to Kirbyville!

I understand that Kirbyville had 12 hits and it could have been even a higher score than 8-1...Holly Tankersley played with a very swollen ankle, all taped up! I could not figure how a team like Lindale could score 4 runs on Kirbyville in the previous game-well here is what happened: Holly Tankersley's team had Lindale beat 5-0 when Holly torn some ligaments in her ankle. Therefore, Kirbyville had to sub in their #2 pitcher, who never gets to pitch! Lindale, score 4 runs on that pitching, but Kirbyville held on for the win....What a tribute, to Holly Tankersley, to come back in extreme pain and totally dominate Kennedale in the State Championship game.
