You don't. Dodge is one hell of a coach. He just might make the mean Green a serious concern. I hope so. Nathan Tune is on a full ride there at QB and I think he could play in that type of O.
Nathan is last years Celina starting QB.

I don't know, I have fired and hired him back about 5 times this year!

He has really done a great job coaching over the past 5 or 6 games.

I don't know if it would happen but think about this. The Sup. at SLC is David Faltus (sp), recently at Navasota. Dan Burk was at Navasota when Faltus was there in Navasota. Burk is currently at The Colony in the DFW area. Might not be likely that it would happen but who knows.

SL Carroll - potential coaches news article 12/13

From the Star-Telegram 12/13/16

Potential candidates

Here's a list of potential candidates to replace Carroll coach Todd Dodge, who was named as the new UNT head coach on Tuesday:

Joey Florence, Denton Ryan: The odds-on favorite. The Raiders coach has won two Class 4A state titles in four appearances (2000-2003). He is friends with Dodge and wouldn't be bothered by the pressure. With Denton Guyer now open, the talent pool in Denton is thinned out. That's not a problem in Southlake.

Hal Wasson, Fossil Ridge: The Panthers coach and former Carroll assistant is also a familiar face, but he's got a good thing going with the Panthers.

Joey McGuire, Cedar Hill: His stock continues to rise, and other schools will take notice, especially if the Longhorns (14-0) win the 5A Division II state title.

Mike Sneed: The former Weatherford and Grapevine coach is on the market. Don't count out this possibility.

Travis Pride, Wichita Falls: The first-year coach led the Coyotes back to the playoffs and is also a former Dragons assistant. A long shot in this mix.

By TRAE THOMPSON - also thinks Clayton George (HALTOM) is off to UNT as OC

Dodge will have a LOT of say when it comes to naming the new head coach. The DC DOES NOT want to be a head coach and has expressed that publically many times. More then likely he will be on staff with Dodge at UNT. Clayton George is a likely candidate IF he doesn't go to UNT. Dodge and Florence are good friends and Dodge does care about the well-being of the Southlake program especially for another year since his boy will be there. My guess would be Joey Florence.

BUT...one thing I havent mentinoed and many havent mentioned. Florence is in line for the Denton ISD Athletic Director's job. Purcell should be retiring pretty soon and that is something that Florence has expressed an interest in!

the Denton AD job by 10-15k im sure. That is a six figure job or dang close to it. Dodge's salary wasn't quite 90k. His passing camp made a bunch of money but iM sure that passing camp will now be held on the Campus of UNT

One must also consider that Florence said he would be interested in that job BEFORE he knew that the SLC job would be open.

In D1 football, there are no partial scholarships. If anyone ever tells you he is getting a partial at a D1 school, then he is lying.

Football is a head count sport (as is basketball), meaning you get all or none. Baseball, track, etc. are partials. Just a little fyi.

I just saw that Mike Sneed was leaving Weatherford. I have known Mike and his family since 1969. He is a good guy and I hope he does well. I think the Weatherford job is a tough one right now but I see them being a force in the next few years. If anybody hears where he winds up please post it for me. If it winds up being SLC, you won't have to post it, I am pretty sure it will be common knowledge.

like I said...it was after what I posted...which meant ODG's article from the FWS-T would fit in that time frame. Florence has been the word amongst many in the DFW area since these rumors started after it was announced Dickey would be gone at UNT.

Has Dodge to UNT been formally announced?

Who do SLC people see as the frontrunner for the job if it happens? Anybody on staff?

Yes...it was announced last night at a press conference. It's widely considered that Joey Florence will be Dodge's pick to replace him. (Obviously) his word carries a lot of weight in Southlake and you can bet that he'll have a hand in picking his replacement...especially with his son staying there as QB next season.
