I see. The coach probably just chose the field that he felt gave a chance for more of his hometown fans to see the game. I don't know where L-E had chosen as their choice.

From what i heard it was Texas Stadium. I dont know how true it is, but i do know that L-E was having problems with Canyon's coach and both Superintendents had to jump in and find a solution.

After Canyon won the toss and the game was set for Abilene at 2 PM, the LE coach called the next day and said that 2 pm would not work, LE needed a later kick-off due to travel time. Abilene could not do a later time, so the Canyon coach offered Sweetwater at night. LE took the offer. Canyon did not have to do any accomodating since they won the flip, but they did.

I'll bet he is feeling pretty damn proud of his team that overachieved all play-offs and made it this far. this team made it farther than any team in school history, nothing to be upset about there.


As for the game, sheesh L-E was big and fast, all they were hyped up to be. I wasn't surprised with #6, we knew he would be awesome. The QB is a stud, a cannon attached to that big frame of his, along with a leg uncomparable to anyone i've seen in person, punting and kicking. the fullback hurt us just as much as anyone, he was the quickest fullback i've ever seen, and he ran hard as well. Biggest play of the game was by far the play right before the end of the half, when canyon had finally put something together only to have LE take it right back on an absolute bomb with 20 seconds left, that really took our air out right before half.

I know our guys didn't want to go out not playing their best, but freakin-A, they don't have anything to hang their heads about. that was a great season, no one expected you guys to do that, and you did, congrats. good luck to LE next week against robinson.

one negative from this game was the scuffling towards the end, and also the fact that i couldn't hear my stinkin school song playing over the rampant celebrations on the other side. i don't know about everyone else, but i think that after you stand and watch as the opponents play their song, that they (along with their band) could hold off for a couple minutes and do the same, IMO.

I Must Agree With The Comment About Not Hearing Our School Song. We Showed Enough Class To Stand There And Watch Theres The Least They Can Do Is Return The Favor. In all honesty, I, and many others were so excited at the end of the game, we simply did not pay attention when your school song was played, and it has not been standard after our games in our area for teams to stop for that after the game, when we respect the opposing side's songs before the game. I certainly did not mean to offend or disrespect, nor did many others.

The Canyon Qb is very good as well will he go to WTSU or somewhere else. I saw him take off Saturday he sure has some speed seems like a very good young man as well.

I totally agree about the Canyon QB. We were told that he was one their biggest offensive weapons and he more than lived up to it. He played hard all the way down to the wire - just like a great team leader should. Good Luck to him in what is sure to be a bright future!!
