A few thoughts. 1st, look to the left of the A button. It's 7/16 of an inch that will keep you from looking so stupid. It'c called the CAPS lock. Turn it off. 2nd, there is holding on every play!! If the refs threw a flag on every play, the games would take 6 hours. If you have THAT much of a problem with the officiating, go to the clinic up here in Lubbock and get certified to referee for TASO. Quit making excuses. When you take away all the red tape that comes with it, that's all it is. Is it a great game? It sure is, but it's just that, a game.

Chill and quit downing them Lions. I've seen em play two games and win them both. They didn't win either game by playing dirty!! They won by playing hardnose smashmouth football! And Whiteside didn't do it all by himself. I seem to remember the O line breaking down a few times and he got stopped. But that O-line has a little to do with his success. Just ask him, bet he won't argue that point!!

This Vernon team deserves nothing but respect from everyone here. I suppose they cheated to beat Perryton, Sweetwater, Snyder, and Greenwood? What the $%^& ever. They won on strength, pride, and heart. Not to mention talent.

Vernon I say congrats!! I'm officially on the banwagon. And I'm with ya the rest of the way. Those of you from my town embarassing me, Shut the @#%@ up!!!!!

Considering how many loses that Vernon has on the season and the fact that they have played 13 other teams, none of which cried like big ol' Fancy Boys about Vernon playing dirty. Congratuates Vernon, but the dream will end against Celina. I say Celina by at least four touchdowns. You must remember that you are playing a Central Texas team, not West Texas. Most teams there have one back as good or better than Whiteside.

I have never seen Celina play so I am speaking in somewhat ignorance but I have to say I can't in any way fathom that Celina is so good that they will beat Vernon by 4 touchdowns.

I think Vernon is certainly beatable by a very good football team--but 4 tochdowns? Vernon is a very physical football team and has a chance to win this game.

Can you tell me more are do you just think West Texas is the armpit of high school football?

I would love 600 wins in fact I thought snyder might be getting close to 500 in Snyder not even close snyder should get 400 wins so yes the 600 is impressive and the one state title. I hope Vernon wins they are a class act. I have met z motion and he has always been complimentary fo the Snyder program so to get on here and start spouting your view makes all Snyder look bad.

Celina will not stop Whiteside. And yes I do wish my team was there instead of yours. But I am proud of that Vernon Squad anyway. They've overcome more adversity than anyone left in the playoffs. I think they've had a tuff enough road through the playoffs and they deserve all respect!!!

Since when is Celina "Central Texas"?
Drive about 30 to 40 miles north of Celina and you're in Oklahoma.... drive south that range and your in Dallas.

Yea, I know he is not a high school kid and I do remember meeting him and I know what he does for a living. That's why I would think he would be above making such rash statements.

I thought he might give me some intelligent words about how these two teams match up but all he could give me was part of Celina's excellent playoff history at the 2A level. That's OK because I am getting the good info from a couple of the other threads.

However, if Vernon plays very well next week or even beats Celina, I will have endless fun bringing up his little careless statements.

I am over and have been over our loss. We had some terrible mistakes and deserved our loss. All I am saying is there were a lot of clips and low hits that should have been illegal because we have not had that many injuries in the whole season. Just a warning to other teams when things start to get desperate. Kind of funny how it started out looking like a shutout (13-0) and our key players started getting hurt. Call it a coincidence but I think there was some desperation in getting a win that night!

thats some serious accusations to make against the Vernon Lions. I have watched most of these young men grow up. They play to win but not to hurt a another player. They know what it's like to see a teammate go down with an injury. I wonder what folks think about Snyder, I bet they think less and less everytime you post accusations such as this.

Nah, Snyder's got a lot of great folks there. It's just that some of them, adults and kids alike, can't handle a loss.

Vernon is def. a good team.

They are a good group of kids who are enjoying this time. They know every game could very well be their last. They have a confidence about themselves that they didn't have the first half of the season. Confidence, skills, and a big heart has produced some big wins the last three weeks. They have to bring all three to Denton this Saturday in order to be successful. It's gonna be a great game!!
