Gobblers dominate all district honors

Posting a 12-1 season is not the only accomplishment of Cuero High School's Gobblers.



Special recognition from the district's coaches notes 13 Gobblers were selected for First Team All District while nine earned Second Team All District honors and nine others were named Honorable Mention.

Among those named to the First Team All District list, 11 were unanimous choices.

Two Gobblers were pegged for Most Valuable Player recognition. Quarterback Kyle Noack is MVP on the offense list and
Bo Pargmann is MVP on the defense list. Both are seniors.

Earning First Team All District honors on offense from Cuero High were Jake Rangnow, full back, sophomore;
Fabian Olguin, running back, senior;
Corey Scott, wide receiver, sr.;
Tre Gray, wide receiver, sr.;
Kaeron Johnson, offensive line, junior;
Justin Freeman, offensive line, sr.; and
Steven Bell, place kicker, sr.

First Team All District on defense for the Gobblers were
Kaeron Johnson, defensive line, jr.;
Corey Scott, secondary, sr.;
Domingo Ruiz, secondary, sr.; and
Ace Slone, secondary, sr.

Receiving unanimous selection to the First Team All District lists were Noack, Olguin, Scott, Johnson, Freeman, and Bell.

Additional honors went to the following on Second Team All District offense:
Stefon Hargrove, running back, jr.;
Sam Stubblefield, tight end, sr.;
Gary Lewis, line, sr.; and
Desmond Patton, line, soph.

Second Team All District defense from Cuero were
Patrick Bell, linebacker, sr.;
Dason Jackson, linebacker, sr.;
Stefon Hargrove, line, jr.;
Klayton Smith, line, soph.; and
Tre Gray, secondary, sr.

Making the Honorable Mention All District list were
Patrick Nami, jr.;
Quincey Whittington, jr.;
Corion Scott, sr.;
Johnny Spears, sr.;
Blake Pickett, sr.;
Callan Hardin, jr.;
Jason Bade, sr.;
Colby Sturm, sr.;
Chris Styra, sr.

Gonzales' Apaches placed three players on first team offense and two on defense while Yoakum had two on offense and two on defense and Palacios had two on offense and three on defense. Goliad saw three Tigers on first team defense.**This is from the Cuero paper, so I don't have the other players names - when I get them, I'll edit this post, they should be listed as well!!**
