just got home from this game and congrats go out to the Panthers...good job today...defense did a good job keeping Sweeny out of the endzone...it could have been a lot closer than it was...again, great job by the defense (#30 kept'em fired up) ...Bode had some key long runs on 3rd down several times...just could not catch him...he's a hell of a kid...good luck next week against Giddings...
it was good to finally meet LHMom and see LHPM again...:D

Way to go boys! Considering several of the boys have been fighting a nasty cold for a few days, they did a heck of a job!  Great job by the defense in holding Sweeny out the endzone several times. We're proud of you!

gobbler grad & Mrs. gg, it was great to see you again! :)

Congratulations to the Sweeny Bulldogs on a great season!! I was also at the game until the end of the 3rd quarter and I was called to Houston to rush my father to the hospital. I just got online here in the waiting room for a moment to check the final score. Also, congrats to LH and good luck next week.

So you've actually seen Giddings play? Just wondering, because if you haven't, you really haven't "seen" enough to make a fair judgement on who will win, IMO.

GobblerGrad - Nice to meet you also. Again - so sorry about the Cuero loss. Would've loved the opportunity to meet up again. LH/Cuero is a much more positive atmosphere than LH/Wimberley.

No - I'm forgetting that we have to win over Giddings before we get there. GO PANTHERS!

Good luck to LH against Giddings. You have a fine team.

Game was closer than the final score. LH scored on a long pass before the half to go up 21-7. Sweeny had a couple of chances to get back into it (turned ball over on downs inside LH 20 & inside the 10). Credit LH defense here too, just saying it was a good ballgame that came down to a few plays.

Tank Carder made as good a catch as you will ever see in the 1st quarter to go up 7-0. Beat his man on a corner route, reverse pass from T. Young & he went up high & twisted & turned to bring it in for the score. Just a great athlete making a play.

LH won the battle at the LOS all day. QB & Bode for LH were impressive as well. Battle was won up front to me. #21 was tough all day too for LH. Good player.

BTW Manor, told you 3 guys from LH would NOT go over 150 yds. each in the game. Stats below:

Box Score (Houston Chronicle)
Sweeny 13, Liberty Hill 28

1st. Quarter 2nd Quarter 3rd. Quarter 4th. Quarter Final

It's interesting to get your perspective. I was thinking it wasn't as close as the score showed, but then the mom in me tends to sometimes look at things that way, even though I try not to. ;) Either way we look at it, it was a great game by two pretty evenly matched teams.

That was probably the most phenomenal catch I've seen this season. When he was landing with his hands outstretched to make the catch, several of us (including myself) said "WOAH!".

Again, more "mom" stuff, but we'll be depending on that this week for sure.

Classy group at LH. I wish y'all well & hope you bring it home this year. Very well-coached team top to botom.

This is not a knock, but I was slightly surprised at the difference in the crowds Saturday. Sweeny is known to travel well, but I was expecting more LH people esp. since they have such a good team. This time of year you "pick up" lots of fans too. Sweeny darn near filled a 5A home side of the stadium. Just something that surprised me a little bit. Best of luck.

It wasn't a great crowd for us, but considering the size of our town, it was pretty decent. At least most of us were loud, instead of a few dead-butts like at one game this year. :D ;) I'm thinking there will be a LOT more folks in attendance, considering it's in our backyard almost.

No doubt, there is no excuse for a football fan from that area not to be in Round Rock this Saturday. Again, go get 'em!
