Gatesville job is open

Hornets head coach Mike Morgan resigned as the head football coach and AD at Gatesville, but he will stay on through the rest of the year to teach. I believe it's been rumored that one of the coaches on their short list is the head coach at Comfort, Lee Wigginton. Never thought I'd see a former Lampasas player and ocach mentioned as a possible head coach at Gatesville, but I guess stranger things have happened.

I actually found out about this almost 2 weeks ago, but I didn't want to say anything until it was made official.

Rumors are flying around Hornet Land. One is that Coach Murphy at Crawford submitted his application. Also heard the school board wants to wait until the playoffs are finished to see if any coaches or top assistants apply. They plan to have someone in place by February to give the new coach time to implement his system.
