I am sitting in the middle of an ice storm folks. Supposed to stay that way for a most of the evening before finally turning to snow sometime before dawn. All of the current weather models are predicting between 3 and 5 inches for us before dark tomorrow. Any other winter weather updates out there from across the state?

just talked to a friend in Amarillo...it's 15...feels like 2...30 mph winds with 45 mph gusts...and has been snowing for about an hour.

The cold front just started here in North Dallas (it's down in the 40's now) and there's a light rain.

At 11:30 this morning it was 71 degrees at 11:37 it was 47 and dropping. Temps have been hovering just above freezing since 6. It's currently 33 with a stiff north wind and freezing rain falling. There are icicles haging off of my Christmas lights. I already had to go beat the ice off of my blow up yard decorations because they were dumped over from the extra weight. It's COLD here folks! The really crazy part is that it's almost like a thunderstorm. There has been thunder and lightning that accompanied the freezing rain. Not my first experience with freezing rain, but it's the first time I ever remember there being thunder and lightning.

I think I live across the street from there Bobby Bobcat. I live on the North-East corner of Lincoln and Wood Circle. The Sheets girls grew up two houses north and across Lincoln from here. I know them and their brother too.

PS- Juggsy, we have about an inch of snow on the ground this morning. Weather dudes are expecting anywhere from a light dusting up to 5 more inches before today ends.

Last night I mentioned to my husband that IP was having an ice storm and expecting 3-5" of snow. He wanted to know what that had to do with us. I reminded him that the cold front would be coming from the north during the night. He still didn't "get it", but about 15 minutes later he was hollering at me that we were under tornado watch and sleet watch.

It's been 32 degrees since I woke up at 5:30.....AND it was sleeting around 7:30, for about 5 minutes.

We had that up here yesterday. I got about a half inch of sleet in my yard accompanied by lightning and thunder. I've heard of "thunder snow" before (never seen it) and this my first encounter of "thunder sleet". Now, we've got about 2 inches of snow on top of that and climbing...

Rat, I left Los Fresnos right before the front got there. It had started to drizzle some. Front hit me while I was heading North of 77 about at the Freddy Fender water tower. Immediately the temp dropped from 84 to 64. And then down to 55. It leveled of at 52 and stayed there all the way back to George West.

One of my "boys" lives in Wichita now. He lives about 6 blocks from a mall. He works for Budweiser driving a delivery truck. I bet his fridge is never empty either :D By the way, what's up with them turning I-35 into a freakin' tollway??? It should be illegal to turn an Interstate highway into a state run tollway. Total BS in my opinion. Gas is cheap though being near Ponca City and the Conoco/Phillips refineries.

I caught the biggest bass i have ever caught in my life in Gordon. I was probably 13 or 14. It was about an 9lber. Jay Loggins caught one the same day that was about the same size. We were fishing right off the access road where the water runs under after a big rain.

It's been a Toll Road for a long time now. Longer than I've lived here. Supposedly, once the highway was paid for with the tolls, they would quit collecting tolls. Just goes to show you, NEVER vote for extra "temporary" taxes. The politicians will find a way to keep them premanent. I think it only costs $1.35 to drive from the OK line to Wichita, though.
