Citing AP sources, the local news in Lubbock is reporting:

- Mizzou to the Sun Bowl vs Oregon St
- Texas to the Alamo Bowl vs Iowa
- Gator Bowl to take Notre Dame if available and if not they will take West Virginia/Rutgers winner
- Tech probably going to the Texas Bowl as the Independence doesn't want a Tech/Bama rematch.

Texas has already accepted to play in the Alamo Bowl? I much rather see them match up against WV or Rutgers in the Gator Bowl!

They would match up with an ACC team, not WV or Rutgers

You can already buy Alamo Bowl tickets now while they are cheaper.

K I found an article...Mizzou can't yet accept the Sun Bowl yet because if the Gator Bowl does take Texas then the Sun takes a Big East team instead. Here is that article:

Texas A&M will play in the Holiday Bowl and the loser of the Big 12 Conference championship game is headed to the Cotton Bowl. But the bowl destinations for Missouri and Kansas State probably won’t be known until Sunday.

“The Gator Bowl will not decide until Sunday,” Bob Burda, Big 12 director of communications, told The Star on Wednesday afternoon, “so we were not able to go beyond that.”

The Gator Bowl is the key because it gets to choose between a Big 12 team and a Big East team. Burda said that if Clemson is the ACC representative in the Gator Bowl, “that increases the likelihood that it will be Texas” extended the invitation.

If Clemson isn’t the opponent, it is more likely that the Gator Bowl will take a Big East team, probably West Virginia.

“But the Gator will not decide till Sunday,” Burda said.

Thus, every other Big 12 team will have to wait to see the trickle-down effect.

If the Gator Bowl picks a Big 12 team, the Sun Bowl cannot. If the Gator Bowl takes a Big East team instead of Texas, a Sun Bowl official has said it will take Missouri.

“If they do fall to us, we would be more than happy to take Missouri with an 8-4 record,” Bernie Olivas, executive director for the Sun Bowl, told PowerMizzou.com on Tuesday night.

“I can’t see a scenario, unless the Alamo Bowl takes them, where we would not take Missouri,” Olivas added.

The Sun Bowl, played December 29 in El Paso, has already filled one slot with Oregon State.

A representative of the Insight Bowl, that game already having chosen Minnesota for a Dec. 29 game in Tempe, Ariz., has already said it would pick Missouri if the Tigers were still on the board. But Kansas State has generally been the more likely Big 12 team there in most speculation.

Texas Tech, because of its Lone Star state base, has been linked to possible invitations from the Alamo, the Independence (in Shreveport, La.) and the Texas (in Houston) bowls. Oklahoma State, at 6-6, has also been listed a possible for the Independence or Texas bowls.

The Alamo Bowl has said it is considering Missouri, Texas Tech and Kansas State if Texas goes to the Gator Bowl, and would take Texas if it is available for the Dec. 30 game in San Antonio against Iowa.

Burda acknowledged there is so much speculation that what seems true on one day can change by the hour.

And yet two Big 12 teams are set.

Texas A&M will play Cal in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28, in San Diego.

The loser of Oklahoma or Nebraska, which square off for the Big 12 title at 7 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday in Kansas City, will head to Dallas and the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 1.
