The Dallas Mavericks defeated Minnesota 93-87 for their 10th win in a row. Dallas started 0-4 but have boosted their record to 10-4 and trail SA (11-4) by a 1/2 game. Houston is 9-4 and will try to match Dallas with a win tonight against those same Minnesota Timber Wolves.

I know we have many Mavericks, Spurs and Rockets fans on this site that disagree on which team is the state's best, but those 3 Texas teams are making the Texas road trips very difficult on the opposing NBA teams. Go Mavericks, Spurs and Rockets!!

I root for the Rockets, but appreciate what the Spurs have accomplished over the years. Dallas made it to the NBA finals and just fell short of winning it all. I believe their championship series was their win over the Spurs.

This season, I watched Houston play both teams. The Rockets seem to struggle with the Spurs, but match up much better with the Mavericks. Houston's Yao Ming had a big game against Dallas, but has difficulty against Tim Duncan and Co. How has the Spurs/Mavericks games gone?

Rockets defeat Minnesota 82-75 led by Yao Ming's 25 points and 10 rebounds. Houston is currently 10-4 and trail the Spurs by a 1/2 game. Houston is the top defensive team in the NBA allowing only 88.4 points per game. Shane Battier was 5-5 from the 3-point line and scored 17 points.

ESPN is now calling Yao Ming the best center in basketball, he is averaging over 26 points and 10 rebounds per game. He is also shooting over 54% from the field and 85% from the free throw line. He has improved his scoring average every season in the past 5 years.

Rockets aren't a very impressive team to watch, unless you like a low scoring type of game. Houston's priority is playing defense and at times the games can be quite ugly. Houston can be a really good team, especially when they are hitting their outside shots. Battier finally had a nice game and needs to be a little more aggressive shooting the ball. T-Mac has struggled with his shot, but his assists are way up. Houston has had some impressive wins, blowing out Miami on the road and defeating Dallas 107-76 at home.

Not bad for a team lots of folks wanted to write off after 4 games. Mavs beat the spurs again. the team is comming together, could be another deep playoff run.
