It was Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend and most of the teams were still going down to the wire to get that State title now it was the third round Regionals in Class 3A. The Gobblers were lucky not getting feasted on for Thanksgiving.

Iowa Park 35..Kermit 14
Lampasas 10..Crane 8
Jefferson 40..Bonham 7
Cameron 19..Groesbeck 14
Port Arthur Austin 27..Needville 2
Hebbronville 14..Giddings 14
Cuero 34..Sharyland 7

While the Class 3A football playoffs are half way done the UIL crowned its new volleyball champions around the state

Class 5A--Houston Cypress Fairbanks
Class 4A--Lamesa
Class 3A--Bellville
Class 2A--Jewett Leon
Class A--Water Valley

And heading towards 1987 these sounds were released before the year is nearly over climbing on the charts All I Wanted by Kansas, Don't Stand So Close To Me by The Police, You Be Illin' By Run-DMC, and Someday by Glass Tiger. And after being #1 for one week Human by Human League was knocked by You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi took over the spot.

On the big screen Mother Teresa, Eye Of The Tiger, and Heartbreak Ridge were released.

Funny how the types of music were released back then compare to now and most of us actually liked it when we were younger:)

I was a youngster then too and I was at the Iowa Park/Kermit game. It was played in Snyder of all places.
