Regardless I think it will be a shoot out. I think both teams have improved defensively, but eventually those offenses will take over. I am going to say Canyon 40-32.

As crazy as this post season has gone so far, I dont think theres a sure bet out there anywhere, but Canyon should have the edge in this one. On paper they should blow Andrews out easily, but I sure wouldnt bet on it.

If Canyon comes in with the right mindset, and they play like they did against Abilene Wylie, they will win. Their defense stepped it up about 10 notches and the offense was clicking, so they just need to bring that back to Lubbock on Saturday. Good Luck Eagles!!

Andrews "O" is outstanding. They have 2 legit rec's and the QB is the real deal, very strong-accurate arm and a good strong runner.

They both have improved on both sides of the ball. I think it will be close for the first half, then Canyon takes the lead.

Nah Canyon has this one, no matter what tricks Andrews has Canyon has more talent and just the ability to win more than the Mustnags do.

Be careful, who whould have thought that Gilmer would lose out as early as they did. Anything can happen in the playoffs.

I have seen both these teams play. Canyons QB is pretty salty. Which will give them the advantage over Andrews. Snyder faught a close one against Canyon but took it to Andrews pretty well. Canyon 35 Andrews 14

This is true, but it will take a little more than a good quarterback and two decent recievers to bring down Canyon. I have played both schools, and can easily say that even when Andrews was in their prime Canyon was still better.

LOL, I doubt you were even a glimmer in your daddys eye yet, when Andrews was in its prime. If so, you'd know how silly your statement was. They were one of the top 4As in the state 10 to 20 years back.

And I wouldnt be surprised to see them get there in 3A in pretty short order.

CLASS 3A DIVISION I REGIONAL FINAL Andrews vs. Canyon

2 p.m., Lowrey Field

• Radio: KACT 105.9 FM (Andrews)

• Records: Andrews 5-7, Canyon 10-2

• How they got here: Andrews finished third in District 3-3A behind Snyder and Midland Greenwood, beat Levelland 34-31 in bi-district, beat Fort Stockton 53-28 in the area round; Canyon captured the District 5-3A championship over Perryton and Dalhart, beat Wichita Falls Hirschi 28-21 in bi-district, beat Abilene Wylie 21-10 in the area round.

• Keep an eye on: Andrews, WR Corey Lee (six catches, 136 yards, TD vs. Fort Stockton); Canyon, QB Anthony Ramos (187 passing yards, two TDs; 19 carries, 129 rushing yards vs. Abilene Wylie)

• Keys to the game: Expect the ball to be put in the air early and often in this clash. Both teams have shown the ability to throw the ball and throw it well behind quarterbacks Ramos and Fernando Guevara for Andrews, who during the regular season threw for 1,604 yards and eight TDs. For Canyon, a monkey was taken off its back as it finally beat Wylie in a playoff game at Lowrey for the first time in three years, and now returns to face an Andrews team on an incredible playoff surge after winning just three games during the regular season. The Eagles' balanced offense, however, may be the difference.

• Our pick: Canyon

I was there on saturday, and i'm not trying to start anything here, but Andrews defense couldnt stop anything. Canyon scored on 7 of 8 drives in the 1st half, and it would have been 8 of 8 if we wouldn't have kneeled it to go into halftime. If Canyon would have left the starters in it would have been real ugly.
