Did you wype the milk off his mouth? Did his Mom attack you? :p

Actually that is a nice symetrical big 8 looks like maybe 3.5 -4.5 years old. Congrats!

It takes 3 minutes to gut one on the ground. Sure is easier moving him around after that. I have never seen anyone hang a deer to gut it in 4o years of hunting.

Then it must be a sheltered 40, the only time I have seen one done on the ground was because they did not have the facilities

We had plenty of trees for quartering them. Oh well to each his own. Congrats on a beautiful symetrical 8.

The picture is better than how I got it on the computer, he is actually a ten. On the right side there is a point blending in with another, and on the back of the main left beam is a 2 inch point.

Nice deer Wharton boy! Good job. That is a darn good deer for Wharton County.

I gut mine on the ground too, but to each his own. Then I hang him to do to remove the cape, quartering, etc. Sucker had to be heavy to lift w/o field dressing him earlier.

Sweet pic.

Last week, my husband and some friends drove all the way to Florida to hunt (I do have a son that lives out there also) - they were on a lease 40 miles South of Orlando - Florida and deer hunting just don't seem to mix - he has a perfectly good lease 10 miles from our house and he goes to Florida...... he did end up with a nice 11 point buck though...... All of the guys ended up with nice deer - so it wasn't a wasted trip -
Where are you Charles? My guys would go NUTS not being able to hunt at this time of the year :p

My friend dropped the biggest 6 point I have ever seen. This was an OLD deer. I think the spread was something like 24 inches.

Man, sounds like a good place to hunt deer then. Let me know when I can come. :D

I have my own land, but it's only good for fishing, not many deer, or any feral beasts.

a section of our place is fenced so hogs cant get out..along with fallow and blackbuck..and some rams as well...we bought like 60 pigs 2 1/2 years ago..so i'm sure they have more than tripled in population since then..they are all over the place in that pasture..but we have a lot more land that is free roam with some monster pigs as well

cuz i do.......when i kill a deer or hog i usually dont even gut it unless i want the ribs which is only obut half the time.

usually i just take the backstraps and the front and back legs and then dump it.

Don't know how big his is, but I hate it when people that have 5 acres shoot five bucks.

Does anyone know of someone who does skull mounts or just horns on a board mounts? I cant afford any more shoulder mounts. I have about 6 sets.
