While I agree the hit was excessive, I do not agree that it was a cheap shot and I think the officials overreacted with the ejection.

I have the game Tivo'ed and have watched that play at least a dozen times. When the ball was intercepted, Dodge took a couple of strides as to return the INT. You can see several of the defensive players turn, as all defensive players are taught, and look for an offensive player to block. They had their back to Dodge and did not see that he went down quickly and the whistle was very late. Every defensive coach worth his salt tells his defenders to find the QB and hit him on an INT return. Everyone, even UT! Now, I agree that Heard probably should have held up when Colt went for the chin strap, but Heard had already committed and the whistle blew slightly before the hit.

The problem is that the TV broadcast isolated the hit as Colt was unbuckling his chin strap, but within the flow of the play, it was not as late as it appeared on the TV isolation.

It was a late hit and deserved a flag. However, it did not deserve an ejection.

Well on the second one our Coach suspended the players and yet the charges were dropped and there was no conviction.

On the first one he got kicked off the team. Will Fran do the same thing?

I talked to Heard Monday he was in town for something, and he told me that he didn't hear a whistle blow and he didn't think that it was late, but he thought that they had just called a block in the back! He also said that A&M coaches saw on tape that it wasn't a late hit and they appealed the ejection and he can play in the bowl game! Heard Is not a thug nor was he in high school.

My guess is that Fran has no backbone so nothing will happen to the player.

I think you "heard" the "homey" side of the story. It was plain to see that McCoy wasn't going to be a factor in the play and Heard just took advantage of the situation to blind-side the opposing QB.

Have to agree with you coach, McGee is a very good QB,but in order to be a Heisman canidate have to run the option an rush for 3000yds.As long as he plays for the aggies he is just another bucky richardson.

Well if that what you want to call it, o and its "homie". If the coaches didn't get mad and suspend him im guessing it wasn't very late! If you think he is such a thug call him one next time you see him. I am a Texas fan, but one of the first things you are tought in youth football is to be always paying attention when your on the field. I do think it was a block in the back though, but to call him a thug is retarted! The kid has never been arrested so how is he a thug?

I got to see Stepen McGee play his last high school game in Texas Stadium. Burnet played Gainesville for the state championship in 2003. McGee is nothing but awesome and he will make the Aggies winners! He still has 2 more years to play there and I know he will get better each and every game.
