"They're a good defense," Mustang coach Dan Hooks said. "I predict they'll win the state championship in this division. But we were just pitiful down there on the goal line. It was poor execution, poor coaching, poor play-calling. It was poor everything."

I know Dan Hooks is a Legend and all, but I was checking him out on the sideline for most of the game and he seems to pretty much delegate everything to the other coaches.

How long has he been so hands off?

Also, I agree the O.C. was just flat out awful on the goal line...

But, the center and deep snapper had some awful moments as well...

Most of the great coaches are. At least down here they are.

Danaher in Calallen. Harris of Refugio/Gregory-Portland fame. I always heard that G.A. Moore was no different. It's the same way at the college level.

The great ones don't micromanage, they just try to see the big picture and do what they can to control it.
