Wow... it was a great game. Both teams never gave up and kept trucking along. My hat goes off to Coffield. He ran out of the shotgun at least 14 times tonight and probably had over 150 yds rushing. The Defensive tightened up in the last 3 mins to secure the win. Zach hurt his ankle tonight and didn't see too much of the ball afterwards. I hope he makes a full recovery for next week. Good Job Mustangs... you derserve it! Good game La Feria you guys had lots of big sized players and talent.

Great game to both teams. LaFeria gave us all we wanted and more... and were class acts to boot. One of their defenders would level one of our kids, then give him a hand to help him up. I can already tell you that I'll root for the Lions wherever and whenever they play, unless it's against the Mustangs.

Even talked to a few LaFeria folks after the game at Young's and they exhibited nothing but class.

Great game. Those kids have nothing to hang their heads about. They played one of the best teams in the Region to within a FG and were tough.

Look forward to seeing you in the playoffs again next year.


PS: Do you guys get #1 and #10 back next year? Those two kids killed us all night long.

A Saturday game in Victoria would be excellent........ our preacher is originally from Ingleside (he used to be the band director at IHS) and his brother is a Judge down there - I bet he'll have all the scoop in the AM..

Great game last night! Penalties slowed the Mustangs down. To overcome that many yards in penalties and still pull out the win is outrageous. Pleasanton is next; they won a close one over La Vernia. :D

I agree they do have class,(and not just because I live there) and there coach Valdez is the reason why. And no, #1 Tomas Tovar, is a senior, but #10 the QB right? If it is, yes he will be back, he is a Junior this year. He is the def coordinators son. Yeah, La Feria will be back tough, if they can get their offense going, that's been their downfall through recent years. Their defense is always tough and consistant, but have lacked the offensive fire power, to make them a power team. They have always had size and speed, and BIG numbers participation in all sports, they are on the borderline of being a 4A team, along with HIdalgo. But, I will pass on your well wishes to them, I have a few neighbors, who play for the Lions. ( LF folks hardly get on the fourms, even on the RGV one.)
