Historical Hondo-Weslaco Championship game from 60 years ago!

I came across this from some old newspapers our family has from 60 years ago. I thought some of you might enjoy a bit of history on this eve of Thanksgiving.:)

We came across a ton of old newspapers in an old barn at the family ranch. I've got stuff before WW2 that would freak you out

Reading old newspaper articles from years past always interests me. My grandpa has a notebook with all the sports articles when he played for Jim Ned back in the day. He was one hell of a player according to those articles. He was supposed to play college ball but something happened between his coach and the college where he was going to play. He never really went into detail about what happened but I could tell whatever happened pissed him off since he didn't get to play college ball after all.
