Good luck guys. Hope you both do well in Aggieland. Represent Brazoria County well Shane! Did you really have only 123 people in your graduating class? I thought WC was the biggest school in the district, like over 800 in high school?

Most of the 800 are freshman and sophmores. They reproduce by budding or something. Seems like more everyday

My question was not meant as a knock on WC. I graduated with 141 back in the day. I just do not understand how that could be when DCTF lists WC with over 830 in hs, so divide that by 4 & you get over 200 in each class. Maybe the younger classes have more coming up.

No big deal. Best of luck to Shane. He looks bigger in his lower body already to me in that pic. A&M should be better this year in baseball & years to come with the recent recruiting classes. It's now time for Childress to step up & win some games.

Maybe we'll see a couple of 3A boys competing against each other this spring.

Alaniz & Boone at UT vs. Minks at A&M

Both schools have many 3A kids. Off the top of my head:

Texas = Alaniz, Boone, Boening, Harris, Williams, Stubbs, etc.
(2A Kasparek is hurt & out for year from Weimar)

A&M = Minks, Green, Starling, Carter, etc.

Very good chance to see 3A boys going at it for both schools.

Talk about a program turning out some pitchers, that would be Yoakum. Check these names over the past few years:

Ryan Wagner (UH, 1st round pick Reds, now traded)
Randy Boone (Texas)
BJ Boening (A&M, Texas State)
Riley Boening (Texas)
Travis Starling (A&M)

Wow, you can win some games with those guys!

You are right in most of those years. Yoakum did lose at State in Riley Boening's & Travis Starling's senior year though. Sinton no doubt had some good teams (Alaniz, etc.).

At A&M they have a JC transfer from Vernon Junior College and 3A kid from Graham, Dane Carter. Plays infield.
Was All Region shortstop at Vernon JC.

He has been playing 2nd base so far this fall, went 7-14 in the intrasquad fall series.

Correct, I read about him. I editted my previous post & probably left off others too. Bottom line is both schools have a bunch of 3A kids doing well. Good for them.

Good luck to you Shane. Rooting for you to do well, & you look bigger in your lower body. Netum Steed must be on your daily schedule! Enjoyed the article, best of luck.

BTW, I was not knocking your graduating class, but the #s just surprised me. Those younger classes must be pretty darn big. See ya. Going to Conroe Friday for both games?

Good luck Neck 06! Looking forward to going the 2 mile drive to see you play this year. E-mail or call one day and let us all know how it is going. I'll send you our schedule too if you get some free time.
