View Full Version : I'm Worried About My Roommate....

BIG BLUE DEFENSIVE END

I get back to my dorm room after a weekend back on the farm, and he's listening to Reba. He listens to her 1:30 this morning. I get back to my dorm room this morning, and he's listening to Miranda Lambert and a host of other female country artists. Am I wrong to be worried? Should I tell him to go get his wrists x-rayed?

I concur...after seeing her in person last week...I must agree.

And Reba...it's like the Susan Sarandon in Bull Durham factor! ;)

That is why you look at her picture, not listen to her music....

Okay, so in the meantime, what should I do to get him to turn it off? Seriously, last night, I wanted to go to sleep, but all I kept hearing was, "Here's your one chance fancy don't let me down!" over and over again....It was a nightmare come true...

Well, he could then tell me to stop watching TV because it bothers him...So I have to think of a diplomatic approach.

Diplomatic would be, "Hey! Your music choice sucks! Turn it off or I'll slap you! If you don't like what I watch on TV, close your eyes! I can't shove enough cotton in my ears to drown out whiny country music!"

See how that approach works.

Hey, let's hope not....That would result in an untimely demise of him.

plan a.

buy a slipknot mast and listen to the heaviest music you can. light a few candles and then make a sacrafic outta of cat(preferrably stuffed) and make blood shoot off everywhere.

do that every night till he moves out.

plan b.

delete certain music from his computer.

plan c.

punch said roomaite in face everytime certain music comes on in training him of whats right and wrong.

plan d.

start prancing around pretending you like the stuff, relax the wrist at all times and ask if he can start calling you sally now before you have the sex change operation.

sleep in his bed inbetween classes.....

Yeah, he's moving out at the end of the semester. He told his parents he didn't feel safe because he kept eating my food so I told him that I would beat him up if he continued to do so, along with leaving empty dishes around the sink and dirty clothes on the floor. He hasn't eaten my food, and he keeps the room clean now.

Country music is like politics. When you start living what they sing about, you tend to listen more. Maybe your room mate is going through one of those missing momma things or his dog got run over by a train.

Politics are similar. When you are young you are looking through rose colored glasses and you see why we should take money from those that have it and give it to help those that don't. But when you are 35 making $80,000 and are considered one of the wealthy and you have to pay 35% plus taxes then the roses fall away and all you are left with is the angry red eys directed toward the socialist democrats that want to give your money away to those that are too lazy to work.

Why are you making things political and throwing Socialist around? That's a quick way to piss someone off, especially someone like myself.

I am sorry, it was an easy button to push. You should not let words bother you. We live in a limited socialist society anyway. Whenever you have entitlement programs those are socialist by definition (sharing the wealth). I personally just think the left side of our political system moves too close to the Marxism thinking on socialism.

But back to the original topic: Did your roommate's dog get run over by a darned ole train?

But the alarming thing is how quickly it is becoming "unlimited socialism". That discussion is for another board.

That' the greatest country song ever, or at least the version with him, Waylon Jennings and Charlie Pride says so.

Relax BBDE, your pals are in power now and they are going to tax your future into the utopian toilet. You should be happy! Keep working hard 'cause them poor folks need your earnings. Hope your family can keep your farm but with estate taxes at 55% and the high price of real estate might be hard to come up with the cash someday. Oh well, its for the children, j/k

Really? Is that why property taxes have gone up the past few years? :hand:
