Graham Steers and Sanger Indians will meet in this round 2 division 2 game. ***will post time/date/location shortly***

No longer "one and done" ( ;) ), Graham defeated Dalhart 33-15, while Sanger defeated Clyde 49-22 in round 1 games.

Thoughts? Predictions?

Sanger had a cupcake game. Graham might be coming together and buying into McCoys system. I still voted for Sanger.

I debated back and forth between Graham/Sanger, Vernon/Sweetwater and Monahans/Snyder.....finally had to drag in another party to help me decide.

I believe this game will be interesting. Sanger is gonna have some time to prepare and pick apart the graham offensive system, maybe. I say that the graham steer defense pulls this one off and plays in december.
Graham 21
Sanger 14

That Royse City game sticks out like a sore thumb, but yeah they have played some pretty weak teams.

I had to pick my Steers on this one. I'll say Graham by 10 or so, but hopefully it's more.

Come on Injured. Just think of how you feel when the "Man" is always keeping you down. That's how we've felt in Graham since who knows when. Thank the Lord I was only there for 3 years of it.:D It's a new Graham team than the one that played that non-conference schedule.

Sanger has a great RB in Pegues (SP?). Going into the Clyde game he had 26 TD's on the year and 24 were on the ground.
He isn't overpowering, but slippery and quick. (Note to Graham fans..... Hirschi had some quick backs and they had problems with them) Sanger also lost their starting QB who went out with an injury before the season ended. They moved a WR over to QB, but he flunked a class and is ineligible. So, they are down to a third string QB. That isn't that big of an issue as they pound Pegues pretty hard, and sometimes he will get a direct snap from the shotgun formation and just let him run.
Sanger has one big receiver in a kid that is 6'4" and their O-Line and D-Line has some size.
Graham has been coming on of late to say the least. This, IMO, will be the biggest test for the freshman QB Case McCoy. He has been able to manage the last few games pretty well, but his defense and running game have helped him there. I think Graham will not be able to run the ball like they have in the past few weeks and this will force McCoy to make things happen through the air. Sanger has a pretty decent defense, they gave up 20 something to Argyle who throws a bunch. If McCoy can manage the offense and keep the ball away from Sanger's offense I think Graham has a chance at winning.
Yes, the Indians did beat a Clyde team that was without their starting QB and Kevil went down with an injury early, but they can play. If Sanger can get Pegues loose it could be a long night for the Steers. Graham's defense will have to shut down a spread running game.... and they haven't shown they can do that.

Graham 14

Yeah, UT can lose, I really don't care though. I'd actually like to see ATM win more than UT. But 9 to 1 it won't happen.

I beg to differ. I think the graham steers are gonna romp on Sanger and Trevor Sparks is gonna run past thier defense line and small secondary like a mack truck through wet toilet paper. Show me a team that can stop Graham's fullback and I'll show you a team that can give graham a ride for their money.

Graham has 3 receivers over 6'2" and they can all run, making them a challenge for mostly shorter secondaries. The addition of a running game over the last half of the season has taken pressure off of their young qb and led them to a record of 4-1 and they have been equally as likely to score from long range running or throwing.

Sanger's strength will be running and they have been prolific both in yards and scoring with Pegues leading the way...

but I think this game will come down to two very good defenses. Whoever tackles the best and makes the fewest mistakes will win. Don't look for this to be too high scoring of a game. The final could be 14-7.

Has anyone ever notice how the Graham posters always get on here and talk like they will never get beat, and their are kids that are all-american. Finally this year they haven't been running their mouths until theybeat Dalhart wow what an acomplishment. These posters some are good ex( RMAC or Marginal Talent) But kids like Cameron Crazy and Tackliong Dummy just add a bad rep for Graham.

Well, I missed on the 14-7 final, but it was a defensive battle (7-7) after regulation. Sanger has a great team and great defense. In the end, I think they just got tired.

As for Graham, MaxPrep said that they (and Vernon) came from a "weak 6-3A district." Well, they are both in regional semi-final games next week. Good luck to both.
