Fox Sports reporting that the Cubs are close to signing A. Soriano

Looks like Sweet Lou is positioning the Cubs to make a run. Picked up Mark DeRosa for second base, and re-signed Kerry Wood, Aramis Ramirez, and looking to add Alfonso Soriano.
Reports are an 8 year deal for Soriano.

Soriano is a good stick but.......
he doesn't always run out grounders or flyballs
and he is a liability with his defense
Not saying he's not a good addition, but he is not the superstar that some percieve him to be
he hits the ball and he steals bases and it's downhill from there

he didnt want to stay with texas , he wanted to be a everyday second baseman and the cubs will do that

He's a quality player that produces. Anybody know of any aquisitions made by the 'Stros?
