Maybe it wasn't the refs afterall. UMHB was the better team this year.

Very long day. I'll post more tomorrow on the game. UMHB is a better team that is settled. The refs also helped them along today. HSU had bad calls throughout the game. The difference maker was on a 4th and 5 late in the 3rd or early 4th. HSU had scored on its two previous possessions and just stopped UMHB. Prior to the 4th down punt as a Cowboy ran off the field a ref flagged him for 12 men on the field. HSU when they saw the man running off called a time out. The refs were waving off the flag and the UMHB coach came onto the field and got the refs to change the call back to a penalty result was a first down. UMHB scored on that drive to put the game away. That was a major call that had an impact on the game.

But no matter UMHB was the better team. Their defense was just better than HSU's offense. HSU scored 21 and 16 against UMHB this year (their lowest point total of any games this year). The Cru deserved to win the game and they did. I hate to say it but they just beat us. I look forward to next year when my son can contribute more and maybe we will beat those suckers!

went to the WT game today, longest game i've ever attended without question. WT played terrible on offense, until their last two possessions. somehow after missing two extra points, they got a TD and a two, then held, then scored on a 40-50 yard TD pass with a minute left. went to OT, WT got a field goal, then partially blocked ACU's attempt to end it. pretty exciting 15 minutes in a four hour game.
