especially the offensive line, those boys were getting downfield like never before.
Even let kyle get a good 20 yds on that busted counter play

#23 makes it look so easy for a offense to run at will at somebody. I didnt see many big holes just speed thru the little openings there was and great vision.
Speed by the Gobblers gave Sinton no chance this year as the Pirates didnt have good team speed. Good luck in the playoffs as it was great to see how a great offense looks like and very good defense. Best team Sinton saw this year and even much more improved since the first game of the year.

Gobblers played one heck of a game tonight...the only time they looked bad was when we had 4 penalties in a row and then the INT. to the linebacker...which was about 2:00 minutes...other than that the running game was there and the passing game was awesome...good to see 2nd & 3rd teamers getting some playing time...just wished they would have scored there at the end...

also got to see pirate4state again...nice seeing you and somehow 44inarow left the bleachers at halftime...

It was good to see you two again. I just wish our boys could have scored a TD. I hate that the last three games have been shut outs against you guys. :o Hopefully, we can return the favor in a few years. ;)

Great game Gobblers!! It was nice meeting Fabian's dad. Fabian is ... wow ... FAST!! :D It's not fair all the talent you guys have! ;)

Great season Pirates. You did the best you could with what you had. No shame in that! :)

No. 2 Cuero To Face Rio Hondo In 3a Area Playoffs

November 18, 2006 - Posted at 12:00 a.m.
MIKE FORMAN - ADVOCATE SPORTS WRITER
Christmas is over a month away but Cuero approached its first playoff game filled with holiday cheer.

The No. 2 Gobblers tore into Sinton like a child ripping open presents under the tree and rolled to a 48-0 Class 3A, Division II bi-district win on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

"It's like we've been under the covers and ready to come out," Cuero running back Fabian Olguin said. "We were definitely ready to play. Our concentration was there, we were taking everything step-by-step and we were really focusing in on what we had to do. It's a great feeling winning the first playoff game."

Cuero had the game in hand by halftime, rolling up 373 yards and seizing a 41-0 lead before improving to 11-0 and moving into the area round against Rio Hondo, a 37-0 winner over Raymondville on Friday night. Cuero and Rio Hondo will meet Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi's Buccaneer Stadium

"Our kids have been pointing to the playoffs," Cuero coach Mark Reeve said. "There's a difference between a playoff and a regular-season game. You could tell by the way we attacked practice. It was just one of those things where we came out ready to play. It's that time of year for us."

The Gobblers scored on six of their first eight possessions before their starters left the game in the third quarter. Cuero ran 24 plays in the first half and had 15 first downs and six touchdowns.

"We had a good week of practice and we came out ready," Cuero quarterback Kyle Noack said. "We were able to run and pass and keep them off-balance. It was a good game for us."

If there were any doubts whether the Gobblers were ready for a rematch against a team they had defeated 29-0 in the season opener, they disappeared when Sinton (4-7) went three-and-out on its first possession and Cuero needed only seven plays to drive 69 yards and score on a 1-yard run by fullback Jake Rangnow.

Olguin, who had seven carries for 133 yards in the first half, finished with nine carries for 181 yards and a 28-yard touchdown run.

Noack completed eight of 12 attempts for 181 yards, including touchdown passes of 65 and 23 yards to Tre Gray and 26 and 7 yards to Corey Scott.

"We have a lot of weapons on this football team," Reeve said. "What a difference between this time and last time. You can really see how our offensive line has matured. They really blocked well and Fabian ran well and Kyle is such a great leader on the field."

Cuero's defense yielded only 106 yards and five first downs. The Pirates reached Cuero territory only once before a fumbled snap by quarterback Wes Ring was recovered by the Gobblers' Quincey Whittington at the 35. Domingo Ruiz returned one of two Cuero interceptions 26 yards for a touchdown.

"I just read the quarterback's eyes and took off," Ruiz said. "Our defense was making its calls and doing a good job of communicating."

After Noack and Gray hooked up for a touchdown on the opening possession of the third quarter, the officials let the game clock run continuously through the second half.

"It was just a good night for us," Reeve said. "We've been waiting for this all year long and it's finally here."

I would have loved to have gone to the game and meet yall but alas...
I'm sure if yall play in SA or close by I'll have a chance to see the Gobbs again.
Your team has my undying support throughout the playoffs.
