It could have been much worse. The Texans were playing reserves about mid-way into the 3rd quarter. All 20 of Marion's points came in the 4th quarter against backups. I think the Texan's first team defense was said to give up 3 first downs...

The Texans were up 42-0 after the first drive of the third then put in the backups and Marion got 3 tds against mostly JV players. QB Ricky Beatty had a great night, or half night, running and throwing for scores, Buse had his best run of the night on the first drive of the third also a couple tds in the 1st half. The 1st string D played good not allowing a first down until the start of the 2nd qtr, the only fault tonight was penalties and the O-line had some issues that need to be corrected quickly. Now its on to next week against either Devine or Medina Valley, good job Texans keep it rollin.

Yes, over all the Texans played well. But to be honest with you, Marion is just so bad that its hard to tell how well we really played. We seem to have "fixed" a couple of problem areas, but then another apparent weakness pops up. We have got to fix them all before we play Cuero, thats for sure.

man that is awesome for anyones program. your second stringers and jv squad getting not only varsity time but playoff time...

I wish we were in region 4 and in a 4 team district.
